APRS is a tiny charity with, three part-time staff, and we concentrate our work in a few areas where we can make the biggest difference.
We campaign to protect, enhance and promote Scotland’s countryside and rural landscapes for everyone’s benefit, and we support others to do the same.

Some key areas we are working in
May 2026 will see the Scottish General Election and we have been bringing together our own Manifesto for the election. Our key asks are in the area of planning, outdoor access, land-use planning, rural housing and circular economy.

APRS has been campaigning for National Parks in Scotland for over 60 years. Our current campaign for the Scottish Government to designate more National Parks has been running for over a decade.
We believe that Scotland needs a new model to transform our wasteful and polluting system to one with is compatible with a living planet.
