Application Transol, developed by CSTB in collaboration with Aiguasol, is a practical software tool for designing and evaluating solar thermal systems in buildings. It helps engineers, consultants, and installers size and optimize systems for domestic hot water, pools, and space-heating support. Using local climate data and configurable system templates, the application estimates energy yield, solar fraction, auxiliary energy needs, and expected savings, making it useful for both feasibility studies and detailed design.

Key capabilities:

  • Rapid sizing and optimization of solar thermal systems
  • Libraries of common components (collectors, storage tanks, heat exchangers, controls)
  • Parametric studies for collector area, tilt, orientation, and storage volume
  • Climate databases to assess performance across locations and seasons
  • Clear graphs and reports for design documentation and client communication

With its balance of technical rigor and ease of use, Application Transol streamlines the design process and supports well-founded decisions on solar thermal integration in new and existing buildings.

Application Transol is developed by CSTB/Aiguasol and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 2.0, 3.0 and 3.2. The name of the program executable file is Transol.exe.
