I’m an experienced English tutor and former examiner, specialising in GCSE English, as well as A-Level English and Creative Writing. I also work with students preparing for their 11+ or 13+ exams, and I’m familiar with both the GCSE and IGCSE curricula. With several years of experience as a GCSE examiner and SATs marker, I understand what examiners look for and how to help students excel. Additionally, I tutor English at the degree level for those pursuing higher education.
I hold a Master’s degree in English and have a genuine passion for the subject. I firmly believe that mastering language opens the door to endless possibilities. My teaching philosophy is simple: those who become confident and capable in English gain the tools to influence and lead in any field. Strong communication skills often pave the way for success, and I aim to help my students not only achieve the qualifications they need but also foster a lifelong appreciation for literature and poetry.
My approach is rigorous but always good-humoured. I am incredibly patient and take great pride in being able to connect with students who may feel lost in their studies. I am equally passionate about stretching and challenging students who are aiming to push their grades from an A to an A*. Whatever your level, my goal is to make you feel confident and empowered in your studies.
