To become a member of the Canada Chapter (APGCAN), you must first be a current member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG). You do not have to reside in Canada to be a Chapter member.
Once you are a member of the APG, please complete the APGCAN Membership Form 2026 to join the Canada Chapter. Dues may be paid by cheque or e-transfer to our chapter treasurer.
The APGCAN membership fee is $12.00 per calendar year. Joining in late fall will extend membership through the following calendar year.

- Agenda & Governance: Members may contribute to meeting agendas, participate in discussions, vote on motions and in elections, and serve on the executive. Executive roles are open to members regardless of where they reside.
- Website Listing: Members are welcome to be listed on our website with a short biography and contact information, helping promote their services to the public and potential clients. Those who take clients may list their specialty areas, while others may highlight affiliations, products, interests, or other services.
- Members-Only Mailing List: Our exclusive electronic mailing list keeps members connected, allowing us to share news and updates, seek advice, and exchange recommendations with colleagues.
- Monthly Online Meetings: Most months, we host an online chat that combines a business meeting with an open discussion, a great opportunity to brainstorm genealogical problem-solving, professional issues, and chapter projects. Members are welcome to bring a guest.
- Event Discounts: Members receive a reduced rate for our special events.
