So... I've not been much around LJ anyway, but yeah, I think I am jumping ship.

I'll attempt to crosspost, but it's more likely than not that I'll be hanging over DW and all.

I made a similar post to this one about a year ago so, time to make it again, just in case, and so I can mem it and have it ready.

Pronouns, people. Do you go by female pronouns, male pronouns, neutral pronouns, something else I'm not aware of? If by ignorance I have made a blunder and called you by the wrong pronoun, I apologize for my ignorance and I can assure you it won't happen again.

So! November round up: I did win NaNo, I did hit the 50k: the story is still NOT DONE - why oh why - but it's been going.

Day 28: A pairing that you will never understand.

Ozai/Hakoda from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I MEAN. I can sort of understand that it's because of the FoeYay or whatever... but since I find Ozai UTTERLY, COMPLETELY BORING, the pairing still boggles my mind.




Day 29: What ship had the best proposal?

I'll admit this. These guys were my first choice. I DID try to think of someone else but. C'mon.



Yuuri Shibuya and Wolfram von Bielefelt from Kyou Kara Maou.

Nothing beats finding out that you just asked the pretty boy who insulted your mother to marry you via a bitchslap.


Day 30: Your favorite pairing forever and ever and ever!

Another easy one.

Me/Money.

WE'RE GONNA BE SO VERY, VERY, VERY HAPPY, GUYS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Right now it's playing hard to get, BUT ONCE I GET IT, YOU'RE ALL INVITED TO THE WEDDING.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ARE YOU GUYS FROM DIFFERENT CANONS WHY WHY WHY WHY WHYYYYY. You would be lovely and amazing and perfect and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *ALL THE TEARS*

THEY WOULD BE ADORABLE. AND HAPPY AND PERFECT. Except for that tiny part with the different canons and Belle being in love with someone in her 'verse.

Day 24: A crazy love triangle/quadrilateral that worked out badly.

SO I was going to go with Quinn/Finn/Rachel because it's the one that is making me raeg the hardest lately (QUINN, RACHEL, PLEASE, DUMP HIM. FINN, YOU'RE ONLY LIKEABLE WHEN YOU'RE SINGLE, BECOME A PRIEST), but I already put Rachel/Finn in 'no chemistry'. Then I considered Yuki/Tohru/Kyou (I shipped them together, or if in pairings Yuki/Tohru and Kyou/Kagura *shrug*) but I don't care that much about Fruits Basket.

But I recalled another one that made me headdesk.



Ten/Rose/Mickey.

I just really, really, REALLY disliked the whole way Rose and Ten behaved towards Mickey. That and - keeping up with the things that won't make me very popular - considering that I DON'T like Ten/Rose, well.

It wasn't a way to work things out it was melodrama for the sake of melodrama.

MICKEY, BE GLAD YOU MARRIED MARTHA SWEETHEART. You two go and be awesome together.

Day 23: A crazy love triangle/quadrilateral that worked out great.



Lantis/Hikaru Shidou/Eagle Vision from Magic Knight Rayearth.

I could go on and on and on about these guys, you guys. I mean, Eagle has only been my SOUL ANIMAL since I was itty bitty and thanks to the Latin American dub he was my very first lesbian crush (it's a magical special adventure, that it is), and I could go on and on about how these guys in couples work fine, maybe even great, but they're not the levels of AWESOME the three of them are together, because they make each other better and help each other and jesus each other - or, okay, rather, Hikaru jesus the dumb out of her two very silly boyfriends - and. HAPPY THREESOME. IN MY LIFE.

(And yes, I shipped it even from the anime, and I was THRILLED when I discovered it was canon in manga).

Day 22: A pairing you hate and no one understands why.

In which 'hate' is 'I'm not a big fan'. I don't hate ships. It seems like a waste of time. Why would I center on hating a ship when I could go and squee about one I do like?

Anyway. And to avoid being mauled, no picture today.

IT'S NOT THAT I HATE IT, AGAIN. I think they're rather cute and all. But... Blaine doesn't do much for me. I LOVE DARREN, I love watching him perform. But I don't like Blaine that much, and while Kurt/Blaine is very cute, I'm not crazy about it.

Day 20: The can’t-stand-the-sexual-tension pairing.

This is me, cheating, but I seriously can't decide between these two. And mind, there were a lot of couples that came to mind - again, I like tsundere characters. It comes with the territory to have UST up to the gazoo with 'em. (I considered putting the Swan and the Prince from Matthe Bourne's Swan's Lake, y'know). But anyway, oldies but goodies first.



The first one goes to Scully and Mulder from the X-Files, because, you know, I'm pretty certain I spent most of my prepubescent years yelling at the TV when mom deemed the show not too scary or traumatic for a girl: 'OKAY. NOW, KISS HER/HIM. NOW. KISS. WHY AREN'T YOU KISSING. MOM, TELL THEM TO KISS, THEY ARE BEING FRUSTRATING'.

In hind sight it probably WOULD have been better that they hadn't kissed, but well, I was tiny.

Damen's palm slid over Laurent's warm nape; slowly, very slowly, making his height an offering, not a threat, Damen leaned in and kissed Laurent on the mouth.

The kiss was barely a suggestion of itself, with no yielding of the rigidity in Laurent, but the first kiss became a second, after a fraction of parting in which Damen felt the flicker of Laurent's shallow breathing against his own lips.

Here's the thing about the world 'tolerant' when regarding homophobes. I still use it, but not to say 'they are tolerant of me'. People should accept me. People HAVE to accept me, period.

When I use the word 'tolerant', I use it because I'm tolerant of them. When I say someone's tolerant, someone who by all means should be labeled an homophobe, it means 'well, yeah, they are, but I can tolerate their presence in my life'.

For example. I use 'tolerant' when dealing with my ninety years old grandmother, because she is one of the sweetest persons ever and she would never wish me any harm and she DOES want me to be happy, but at the same time I'm aware that if I ever brought a girlfriend to meet her, she'd probably cry and grandmother wouldn't like her. But since my grandmother is so very old, and since she's so very sweet and kind and she would never, ever, EVER say or wish something violent on another human being, I 'tolerate' this, so I don't talk about my bisexuality with her, and when I've had a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend and my grandmother asked, I just said 'I'm seeing someone'. It's not nice, and it's akward, and it hurts, but it's something that, for my grandmother, I'm willing to put up with.

However, please, make notice of this: This is my choice. And it's MY right whether I decide to tolerate someone not accepting me or my love and sexual preferences.

But no, I don't have to tolerate everyone. I don't have to take homophobe's feelings into consideration. I don't and I won't feel bad because I'm calling someone a homophobe if that person says how 'awkward gay people make her feel' or 'I think homosexuality is wrong'.

I DON'T HAVE TO TOLERATE ANYONE'S IGNORANCE OR HATE. When I do, it's my choice, and it's due to special circumstances and my own will. I don't hurt anyone, I am not a sexual predator, and I am not wrong for liking both men and women. The people I want around me SHOULD AND HAVE to accept me.

You tolerate a disgusting habit. You tolerate an awkward situation. You tolerate your best friend's awful boyfriend while crossing your fingers for them to break up as soon as they can. That is what tolerate means. To put up with, to endure, to keep counting one hundred times a zillion until whatever is bothering is done.

But someone you care about, someone you like?

You accept them. You don't tolerate them

Man, and I had been doing so well. It was just a very, very busy day. Okay, whatever, have two today.

Day 19: A pairing you’ve rooted for since the beginning.

Part of me - the wanker part - wants to say Harry/Ginny because I DID and because all these years later I still have this LOLOLOL feeling towards the STILL bitter shippers. But I already chose Harry/Ginny before, and since I have this huge, ridiculous shipping base were to choose, I'm trying not to repeat choices.

And then, well. I WAS missing on the girl love. Besides, someone posted about 'em recently and I was hit by nostalgia.

I've not followed Bleach in years, but I still remember them fondly. BEST FRIENDS! PROTECTING EACH OTHER! THE TRUST! LOYALTY! MY PINGS, ALL OF THEM!

Okay, it's not so much that I didn't thin they wouldn't work. It's more that when I joked saying I shipped them, I NEVER EVER EVER expected them to, y'know. Become CANON. And WORK. It was a HUGE, HUGE, GIGANTIC SURPRISE when they not only worked but went CANON. So it wasn't so much I didn't thin they wouldn't work, more like I never even considered they'd actually happen.

Why would you even THINK of putting Strawberries together with Whipped Cream, I will never, ever understand. Every time I hear or see someone talking about it, a part of me dies a little.

Day 15: What is your favorite real life pairing?

This one's hard because I'm not very into RPS, so I don't really... ship actors together. I MEAN. I can go 'omgthey'resocute' and swoon and sigh because the actors can be adorkable and funny and great. But as a rule I don't, actually, ship them.

And then I remembered that there is one couple I actually do kinda ship.



I DON'T SHIP ELEVEN AND AMY LIKE, AT ALL. But Karen and Matt I just. Man. So I want Karen and Matt to get married and have adorable redhead babies who will grow up with David and Georgia's daughter to become the next generation of Doctor Who.

Day 13: What is your favorite movie pairing

Guys. Guys. Why do I make this to myself. WHY DO I MAKE MYSELF CHOOSE ANYTHING. I'm a _libra_. WE HATE CHOOSING. I probably multiship just so that I don't have to choose between pairings!

Okay. Okay, I can do it. Yes, I totally can. Let's be... reasonable. And calm. And try to think. It doesn't go with two of my favorite movies (Great Expectations and Much Ado About Nothing) because, while I love them, I don't go crazy about the pairings. I could go with Disney, probably, Pocahontas and John Smith or Mulan and Shang, two of my favorite Disney couples ever but... it's still not there.

It's just, well. It doesn't feel right to use a movie based on a book - I'LL HAVE TO BREAK MY BRAIN WITH THAT ONE TOMORROW - and I could probably use Haku and Chihiro, or WALL-E and EVE, if I want to, hell, there's just--

SO THIS ISN'T THE COUPLE THAT MOLDED ALL MY SHIPPING TENDENCIES, BUT IT ENFOLDS THEM ALL SO PERFECTLY. The love and the hurt and the fact that you CAN'T hate Victor because he is a good man and that it HURTS SO MUCH, YOU SOB YOUR HEART OUT but it's still perfect and beautiful and just. JUST.

Day 11: What is your dream pairing?.

As in, something I ship that has no basis? Or my perfect pairing, the one that cuts the mold to all my pairings?

I'm going to go with the first one since, if I cheat that way, it means CROSSOVER TIMES. And I do have a lot of crossover pairings, you know. But if were talking about dreams, we're talking about imagination. And if we're talking about imagination, then we're talking about



Mac from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes.

JUST HEAR ME OUT.

Not now. But later: young adult Mac and young adult Calvin, who have spent most of their lives being shunned for their imagination, their imaginary friends. And maybe they decide to try, sorta, to pretend. Not to stop thinking their friends are real - because they ARE - but to try and fit. In a way.

Only they don't. And then, they meet each other. And Calvin thinks Mac is this huge loser nerd and Mac thinks Calvin is crazy and possibly a criminal, but somehow they get along. They fit. They have these hundred of silly jokes only they understand and there hasn't been even a moment they actually discussed these things, they just exist and they're great and they're made for laughing. And just like that they just. I won't say belong, because they don't, not really.

But they fit in an awkward, strange way that suits them just fine.

The most heartbreaking scene.

Meme. HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO CHOOSE. I. I HAVE ZILLIONS OF THOSE, TOO. Shin and Kanaru in Persona Trinity Soul, Shin falling in love and ready for that and Kanaru dying. Magneto and Xavier have two JUST in the movies: third one, when Xavier dies and you can see Magneto's heart breaking, and then in the new one, the Beach Divorce and all. Utena and Anthy under the rain. Torchwood, Miracle Day: Rex and Esther looking at each other as they both seem to be dying. Ianto's dialogue at 'Deadline'. Henry and Clare in The Time Traveler's Wife is one gorgeous, aching heartbreak after the other one.

So I'm a masochist, sue me.

In the end, I'm going with this one because I'm rereading.



Harry Dresden and Susan Rodriguez from the Dresden Files.
"I'm sorry. I never meant to let you down." I said. I sagged against her. There wasn't much reason to keep fighting. But I did anyway. For her, if not for me. I held onto that link, tot he pressure I had forced against the spell, to the memories of Susan and me, together.

"I love you."

Why it wored right then, why the webbing of my godmother's spell frayed as thought the words had been an open flame, I don't now. I haven't found any explanation for it. There aren't any magical words, really. The words just hold the magic. They give it a sape and a form, they mae it useful, describe the images within.

I flooded into her, through the lin, into the darness and the confusion that bound her, and I saw, through her thoughts, that my coming was a flame in the endless cold, a beacon flashing out against that night. Day 6: The best kiss.

This one was hard. I like kisses. I'm very, extremely fond of kisses, both in RL and fictional kisses. I love when the kiss is shy and just a beginning. I love awkward kisses. I love when the kiss is hot and urgent and needy, when it seems that there is a NEED to crawl inside the skin of the other person. Arms around neck and waist, clinging. I love love love LOVE kisses. And thus, I have seen and fangirled at THOUSANDS of kisses.

What should I choose? I mean, there's the kiss Belle and the ex-Beast shared that broke the spell (yes, I like prince Adam. Haters to the left) and I swooned and sighed hard with that one. In Captive Prince I've reread the way Damen kissed Laurent a thousand times. I've read some of the best kisses in fanfic of pairings I love. Movie-wise, as corny as it was, I still love Jack and Rose's kiss when they're doing the 'do you trust me' scene.

In the end, I went with the one that is freshest on my mind and that, I remember, made me the happiest, giddiest for a kiss in a long while. Some of it was my inner wanker gloating. Most of it was that any kiss that is described with 'several sunlit days' deserves the spot.

Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without even thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her.

After several long moments — or it might have been half an hour — or possibly several sunlit days — they broke apart. The room had gone very quiet. Then several people wolf-whistled and there was an outbreak of nervous giggling.

Day 4: The pairing with the most chemistry.

I was thinking 'man, three days of straight couples. This is weird. Or well, rather, I'm probably just doing the first couple that springs to mind'.

AND LO AND BEHOLD, IT'S TRUE, BECAUSE. COUPLE WITH THE MOST CHEMISTRY?



Arthur Pendragon and Merlin from BBC!Merlin.

Fact about me: Usually, I don't ship the popular ship, and I'm not that fond of the main character. I can like them, and I can be even fond of them, but I always have other favorite. When I started watching Merlin, I already knew about Merlin/Arthur and, due to me being obstinated, I pretty much decided from the start that both Morgana and Gwen were going to be my favorites.

And mind, it's not that I don't love them both. It's not even than I don't ship it.

It's that Arthur is my favorite and that I ship him so hard with Merlin that if I was thirteen years old I'd be making hearts filled with 'AP <3 M!'. Yes, this is a fact.

It's. Well, I said it before. I LOVE BRASHEN IDIOT/TRICKSTER COUPLES. I love best friends falling in love. I love friendship and support and teasing and laughing and growing up, maturing together. I love confidence.

It took me about three hours to decide on what gif for Arthur and Merlin to use because. Seriously. The way they look at each other in some scenes.

I KNOW it's not going to be canon, but. Man, yes. Merlin and Arthur (and Colin and Bradley) have CRAZY INSANE amounts of chemistry between them.

Day 3: A pairing that needs to happen now.

Okay because I was talking abut them yesterday.



Piper McLean and Leo Valdez from 'Heroes of Olympus'.

OKAY so it's not just because I don't like Jason: I don't do ships that way. The ONE scene where we actually saw Leo and Piper interacting without Jason there... I liked what I saw. The camaderie, the teasing, the laughs, they way they actually could lean against each other. I liked the idea of the what could have been if the gods hadn't been nosy.

In my head, I liked to imagine how they were before the Jason-added mist-memories. How they probably were the only brown-skinned kids at the 'school' they were. I particularly like imagining how - if - Piper told Leo about her dad.

I do have a thing for Brashen Idiot (Piper) And Slythering Trickster (Leo). And no, I'll repeat it's not a 'I don't like A so I'll ship B and C'. It's not that I think they're perfect for each other. But I do think they'd be _good_ for each other. Leo sees more than just a pretty girl. Piper knows that Leo isn't an idiot.

Day 2: What was your very first ship?

... oh man, this needs some thinking.

First ship as in, once I was involved with fandom?



Van and Hitomi, from Escaflowne. These two are the reason why I started writing fics, ladies and gents. Since I couldn't understand WHY IN THE SEVEN NAMES OF HELL these two weren't together and happily married, I took it into my hands to write a terrible fanfic full of Mary Sues and cliches and sappyness when I was twelve. THANKFULLY ENOUGH that fic has long since perished in lieu of geocities collapse. But thanks to Van and Hitomi I got introduced to fandom and I started writing... fifteen years ago. Dear god, I feel old.

BUT OKAY. If its about actual first ship, as in 'THESE TWO NEED TO STAY TOGETHER FOREVER'. Mmm...



I knew, in my hearts of hearts, that I wanted Peter and Wendy to have a zillion adventures together and not grow up for as long as they wanted. It was perfect. In the anime, in the book, in the Disney movie, in the Robin Williams movie... I always hated Peter NOT being with Wendy. It didn't make sense, to me. To little Nina, they were amazing and glorious. Brave and strong and they could conquer anything between them. I didn't understand why Wendy had to grow up. I REALLY didn't like that. Now that I'm older and wiser I know why, and I'm not as bitter as six years old me was.

... and only now I see that this might've been the ship that started my personal trend. Huh.

In something that some of you might have realized already, there are some songs and some artists that just seem to belong to a series. Of course, this might change according to personal tastes and beliefs and sometimes your own interpretation of fandom might change this.

For example, in my case, I'll always relate Matthew Good Band to Digital Devil Saga (Haven't Slept in Years is a fine example: Make me your cannibal/make me your product and i will make you rich/it's still fashionable, isn't it?/all this time it's been killing you/all this time it's/been caving in your head/killing you/alive, alive, alive/you're dead ). For Percy Jackson and the Olympians, most of The Rasmus songs seem to fit the characters. For D.Gray-man, in my case, it's Muse. And so on and so long. Usually, I end up relating an artist or a band to a fandom and most of the time it works.

... with this in mind, I will always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS find it hilarious that, the artist that seems to relate the best with Comicverse!Gotham city and the miriad of characters there?
