Stingray (?) In Emeryville Marina

I was shooting pix of the Egret (see other photos) when Adriana noticed this ray in the water, moving at speed; I got off a single shot before it vanished into the murk. The image cleaned-up well. The ray was about 18″ across.

  1. Boring, I was thinking this was going to be a Stringray as in the marionette V series and that it was hinting that Pixar (who are based in Emeryville) might be a) playing practical jokes or b) doing something with the story.

  2. Nice shot, I remember seeing about 4 or 5 rays about that size swimming around off a pier in a town south of Wollongong when we used to live there – a beautiful sight..

  3. Not stingray! Bat ray. We don’t have stingers here, they require warmer, clearer water. But man, they’re cool when you see them, aren’t they? =)
