How #NoPlaceToHide is cover for creation of #DigitalStopAndSearch for the Global Internet

Quite. This is #DigitalStopAndSearch:

This is a point which I made to Baroness @NickyMorgan01 but have not yet heard back regarding – #NoPlaceToHide is a call for #DigitalSusLaws, #DigitalStopAndSearch, an online Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

British Government under all parties have a terrible record of passing surveillance laws which will only be used "in extreme circumstances" but then are repurposed for banal curtain-twitching like fly-tipping:

#NoPlaceToHide is more of the same

We *MUST* resist the creation of #DigitalStopAndSearch #DigitalSusLaws by the "back door" (pun intended) because this is no longer just a matter of infringing the rights of "Keep the Aspidistra Flying" Blighty.

This is the Internet. People need privacy.
