   Indeed – this is terrible news.

   So what is the alternative?

      For most people, WhatsApp will be sufficient. If you are planning something with a political bent, use Signal.

   I always suggest Signal over WhatsApp because Signal is available on tablets and phones. Multiple times over the years I tried to load WhatsApp on my iPad it refuses, “Only available for iPhone.”

   Nothing to do with politics, on my end at least.

   Also, I trust Signal far more than Facebook.
