AIVA is an AI music generation app that allows you to create new songs by choosing the style and even several base songs as a reference. There are hundreds of different musical genres to choose from, including soundtracks, electronic music, classical, and many more. The app provides a base with the AI organizing the notes for you so you can choose the lyrics. It even features an editor where you can modify the creations to your liking.

Generate tracks using style profiles and composition algorithms

AIVA eliminates creative block and usage licensing issues thanks to an automation engine that writes music from scratch. When you select a predefined style profile or a specific emotion, the software processes the request and generates a structured audio file with its own progression, melody, and structure.

Score editing and MIDI track customization

To ensure that the songs avoid sounding generic or cloned, the app features a grid-based piano editor. You can open any track generated by the AI to modify individual notes, alter the chord duration, change up the tempo, or mute entire instrumentation channels on the fly.

Project manager and organization in the cloud

Your creations are conveniently managed through a central dashboard that stores your entire track history on remote servers. You can sort your compositions into thematic folders according to the audiovisual project you are working on, facilitating the creation of variations of the same musical base to maintain sonic coherence across a series of videos or game levels. The system offers flexible export options, allowing you to download the content in high-quality formats such as WAV or MP3, along with separate instrument tracks to facilitate the final mix.

Influences and own models

The program's interface gives you the option to upload your own music files in MIDI or MP3 format so that the algorithm can analyze them and use them as a basis for inspiration. By feeding the system references, the AI learns the progressions and style of the original track to compose new variations that follow a similar structure without plagiarizing the original work.

My experience with AIVA

I started messing around with the platform to compose a progressive house song using a Martin Garrix track as a base. I went to the style profiles tab, selected the house music tag with an upbeat tone, and set it to last longer than 2 minutes. The result was a song with a slightly similar tone, but different in every other way. I was even able to choose the key in which I wanted the song, and think of lyrics that would fit the melody.

What I liked most about AIVA and what could be improved

· What I liked most: There is great flexibility in being able to download the MIDI files of the compositions, which gives you total control to change the virtual instruments in any external editing program.

· What could be improved: The assignment of intellectual property licenses in the free plan requires you to credit the platform and limits the commercial use of the songs unless you upgrade to a paid subscription.
