Adding Link Mappings

Link mappings are the core data structure of AffLoc. Each mapping connects a slug + country combination to a specific URL.

Create a New Mapping

1. Navigate to AffLoc in your WordPress admin sidebar.
2. Fill in the Add New Mapping form:
   • Offer Slug: A short identifier (e.g., amazon-laptop). Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
   • Country: Start typing a country name or code. Select from the autocomplete dropdown. Use default for the fallback link.
   • Affiliate Text: (Optional) Custom link text for this specific country mapping.
   • Affiliate URL: The full URL for this country (e.g., https://amazon.co.uk/dp/...).
3. Click Save Mapping.

Best Practices

• Always add a default mapping — This is the fallback URL for countries you haven’t specifically mapped.
• Use consistent slug names — Once you use a slug in your content, changing it means updating all shortcodes.
• Group related products — Use descriptive slugs like vpn-nordvpn, vpn-expressvpn to keep things organized.
