At Zoom Zoom, we want to connect people through transportation and bring communities together. In this Privacy Policy, we tell you what information we receive from Zoom Zoom riders and drivers, and how we use it to connect riders with drivers, operate the Zoom Zoom Platform, maintain safety and trust, and continue to improve our services. Below, we also explain how information may be shared with other riders and drivers in the Zoom Zoom community as part of our mission to bring people together.
1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
Zoom Zoom (“Zoom Zoom,” “we,” “our,” and/or “us”) values the privacy of individuals who use our application, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Zoom Zoom Platform” or “Platform”). This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information from Zoom Zoom users (“Users”), comprised of both Zoom Zoom riders (“Riders”) and Zoom Zoom drivers (including driver applicants) (“Drivers”). Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of Zoom Zoom is also subject to our Terms of Service (www.zoom.cab/terms).
This Privacy Policy is intended to apply in the jurisdictions where Zoom Zoom operates, including Canada and the United States. Certain features, disclosures, and rights may vary by location and applicable law.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide to Us
2.1.1 Registration Information. When you sign up for a Zoom Zoom account, you provide your name, email address, phone number, and other account details. If you decide to sign up for Zoom Zoom using a third-party account (such as Facebook), we may receive basic information from that third-party profile, such as your name, profile photo, and other information you authorize that provider to share with us. Zoom Zoom does not control the privacy practices of third-party providers.
2.1.2 User Profile Information. When you join the Zoom Zoom community, you may create a Profile to share information about yourself and, where available, discover mutual friends or interests. Creating a Profile is optional for Riders, and you can share as little or as much as you want. Your name (and for Drivers, profile photos and certain profile details) may be part of your Profile. Read more below about how you can control who sees your Profile. You can also add a Business Profile to your account, which may require a designated business email address and payment method.
2.1.3 Payment Method. When you add a credit card or payment method to your Zoom Zoom account, a third-party payment processor that handles payments for us will receive your payment information. To help protect your financial data, Zoom Zoom does not store full credit card numbers on our servers. We may store limited information (such as payment tokens and transaction metadata) necessary to facilitate payments, prevent fraud, and provide customer support.
2.1.4 Communications. If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you. For example, when you contact our Customer Support Team, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, the contents of your message, attachments you send to us, and other information you choose to provide. We may also keep records of communications for training, quality assurance, dispute resolution, and safety purposes.
2.1.5 Driver Application Information. If you decide to join our Zoom Zoom driver community, we may collect additional information to verify identity, eligibility, and compliance. In addition to basic registration information, we may request your date of birth, physical address, Social Insurance Number (Canada) and/or Social Security Number (U.S.) or other government identifiers (where permitted or required), driver’s license information, vehicle information, car insurance information, and in some jurisdictions additional business license or permitting information. We share certain information with partners who help us run background checks and other verification processes to help protect the Zoom Zoom community and comply with legal requirements.
2.1.6 Payment Information. To help ensure Drivers get paid, we may collect and store information such as bank routing numbers, account numbers, payout preferences, tax information, and other payment details provided by Drivers or required by our payment processors.
B. Information We Collect When You Use the Zoom Zoom Platform
2.1.7 Location Information. Zoom Zoom is about connecting Drivers and Riders. To do this, we need to know where you are. When you open Zoom Zoom on your mobile device, we may receive your location. We may also collect the precise location of your device when the app is running in the foreground, and (if you permit through your device settings and where necessary for Platform operations and safety features) in the background. If you label certain locations, such as “home” and “work,” we receive that information too. Location information is necessary for matching Riders with nearby Drivers, determining pick-up and drop-off locations, suggesting destinations, calculating time and distance for pricing, and supporting trust and safety. If the need ever arises, our Trust & Safety team may use and share location information to help protect the safety of Zoom Zoom Users or members of the public. In addition, Drivers’ location information and distance traveled may be necessary for calculating charges and supporting incident investigations and insurance-related processes where applicable. If you give us permission through your device settings or the Zoom Zoom app, we may collect location when the app is not in use to identify promotions, service updates, or operational notifications in your area.
2.1.8 Device Information. Zoom Zoom receives information from Users’ devices, including IP address, web browser type, mobile operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, application version, device identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers, and push notification tokens. If you register with a third-party account (such as Facebook), we may also receive a related identifier. We may collect sensor or diagnostic data from Drivers’ devices (such as speed, direction, acceleration or deceleration) to improve location accuracy, help protect Platform integrity, support safety features, and analyze usage patterns.
2.1.9 Usage Information. To help us understand how you use the Zoom Zoom Platform and improve it, we automatically receive information about your interactions with the Platform, such as pages or content viewed, actions within the app, and the dates and times of your visits.
2.1.10 Call and Text Information. We may work with third-party partners to facilitate phone calls and text messages between Riders and Drivers who have been connected for a ride. We may receive information about these communications including the date and time of the call or SMS message, the parties’ phone numbers, and the content of SMS messages. For safety, quality assurance, fraud prevention, and customer support purposes, we may also monitor and/or record certain communications made through the Zoom Zoom Platform (including calls) where permitted by law. You will be given notice where required, and by proceeding you agree to allow Zoom Zoom to monitor and/or record the communication to the extent permitted by applicable law.
2.1.11 User Feedback. Riders and Drivers may rate and review each other at the end of rides. We receive ratings and reviews and may share rating information between Riders and Drivers as described below.
2.1.12 Address Book Contacts. If you permit Zoom Zoom to access the address book on your device through your mobile platform’s permission system, we may access and store names and contact information from your address book to facilitate invitations and social interactions that you initiate through our Platform and for other purposes described in this Privacy Policy or at the time of consent or collection.
2.1.13 Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies. We collect information through the use of “cookies,” pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to understand how you navigate through the Zoom Zoom Platform and interact with Zoom Zoom advertisements, learn what content is popular, help secure accounts, prevent fraud, and save preferences. Cookies are small text files that web servers place on your device; they help websites and apps recognize your browser or device. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. You can typically modify cookie settings through your browser or device. If you delete or choose not to accept cookies or similar technologies, certain features of the Zoom Zoom Platform may not function properly.
C. Information We Collect from Third Parties
2.1.14 Third Party Services. If you choose to register for Zoom Zoom or link your Zoom Zoom account with a third party’s service (such as Facebook), we may receive the same type of information we collect from you (described above) directly from those services, as permitted by your settings and the third party’s policies.
2.1.15 Third Party Partners. We may receive additional information about you, such as demographic data (where permitted), payment confirmation information, identity verification signals, or fraud detection information from third-party partners, and combine it with other information we have about you to operate the Platform, prevent fraud, and improve safety and service quality.
2.1.16 Enterprise Programs. If your company, university, or organization participates in an enterprise program (such as a corporate or campus transportation program), we may receive information about you, such as your email address, from your participating organization. We may also allow your participating organization to request a ride on your behalf, in which case they may provide us with your name, phone number, and the pick-up and drop-off location for your ride.
2.1.17 Background Information on Drivers. Zoom Zoom works with third-party partners to perform driving record and criminal background checks and other eligibility screenings on Drivers where permitted or required. We may receive information from them such as publicly available information and/or background check results as permitted by applicable law.
3. How We Use the Information We Collect
3.1.1 We use the information we collect from all Users to:
a. Connect Riders with Drivers and facilitate rides;
b. Provide, operate, maintain, improve, expand, and promote the Zoom Zoom Platform;
c. Analyze how the Zoom Zoom community uses the Platform;
d. Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including operational, transactional, safety, and marketing communications (where permitted);
e. Personalize the Zoom Zoom experience for you;
f. Send you text messages, calls, and push notifications (subject to your settings and applicable law);
g. Facilitate transactions, billing, payments, refunds/credits (if any), and Driver payouts;
h. Provide customer support;
i. Detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to fraud, unauthorized access, misuse, or security incidents; and
j. Respond to trust and safety issues that may arise, including incidents, disputes, claims, and lawful requests from government authorities.
3.1.2 Additionally, we use the information we collect from Drivers for purposes related to driving on the Zoom Zoom Platform, including:
a. Sending emails and text messages to Drivers who have started the driver application process regarding the status of their application;
b. Determining and monitoring a Driver’s eligibility to drive with Zoom Zoom, including verification, compliance, and safety screening;
c. Notifying Drivers about ride demand, pricing, earnings opportunities, service updates, and operational communications; and
d. Supporting safety features, calculating charges and payouts, and supporting incident response and insurance-related processes where applicable.
4. How We Share the Information We Collect
A. Sharing Between Users
4.1.1 Sharing between Riders and Drivers. Riders and Drivers matched for a ride may be able to see certain information about each other, such as name, photo (where applicable), ratings, and any profile information you have chosen to provide. Drivers see the pick-up location the Rider provides. Riders see Driver vehicle information and real-time location as the Driver approaches. Ratings and feedback may be shared in a de-identified or aggregated manner in some cases, but we cannot guarantee a User will not infer the identity of another User in every situation.
4.1.2 Although we facilitate communication between Riders and Drivers, we do not generally share your actual phone number or other direct contact information with other Users. If you report a lost or found item, we may attempt to connect you with the relevant Rider or Driver, including sharing actual contact information with your permission or as necessary to resolve the issue.
B. Sharing Between Zoom Zoom and Third Parties
4.1.3 API and Integration Partners. If you connect to the Zoom Zoom Platform through an integration with a third-party service, we may share information about your use of the Platform with that third party as required to provide the integration. We may also share limited information with partners to create offers that may be of interest to you, subject to applicable law and your choices where required.
4.1.4 Third Party Services. The Zoom Zoom Platform may allow you to connect with third-party services that we do not control. If you use those services, we may provide the third party with information needed to provide the service to you. We cannot speak to the privacy practices of these third parties and encourage you to read their privacy policies before using their services.
4.1.5 Service Providers. We work with third-party service providers to perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, background checks, identity verification, analytics, communications, customer support tools, hosting, and security). We may share your information with such service providers to help us provide and improve the Zoom Zoom Platform and services described in this Privacy Policy. These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
4.1.6 Corporate Partners. If you participate in a corporate or enterprise program and charge a ride to your organization’s billing method, credits, or account, we may provide the organization’s account holder with information about your use of the Platform, including ride details such as date, time, charge, and pick-up and drop-off locations. If you create a Business Profile and designate a ride as a business ride, we may share ride details with your organization. If you change organizations, it is your responsibility to update your Business Profile accordingly.
4.1.7 How We Store and Protect Your Information. We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide you and other Users the Zoom Zoom Platform and to meet legal, tax, accounting, safety, and dispute resolution needs. This generally means we keep profile and account information while your account is active. We may retain transaction records (such as rides and payments) for at least seven (7) years, or longer where required or appropriate for legal, regulatory, insurance, safety, fraud prevention, or dispute-related purposes.
We take reasonable and appropriate measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no security measures can be 100% effective, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
4.1.8 Other Sharing. We may share your information with third parties in the following cases:
a. While negotiating or in relation to a change of corporate control such as a restructuring, merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets;
b. If a government authority requests information and we believe disclosure is required or appropriate to comply with laws, regulations, subpoenas, court orders, or legal process;
c. With law enforcement, government authorities, or third parties if we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Zoom Zoom community, Zoom Zoom, Users, or the public;
d. To comply with a legal requirement or process, including civil and criminal subpoenas, court orders, warrants, or other compulsory disclosures;
e. If you signed up for a promotion using another User’s referral or promotion code, we may share limited information with your referrer to confirm redemption or qualification for the promotion;
f. With our insurance partners, claims administrators, and professional advisors to determine, provide, or support relevant coverage and incident response;
g. To provide information about use of the Platform to potential business partners in aggregated or de-identified form that cannot reasonably be used to identify you; and
h. Whenever you consent or direct us to share.
5. Your Choices
5.1.1 Email Subscriptions. You can unsubscribe from commercial or promotional emails. However, we may still send transactional, safety, or account-related communications.
5.1.2 Push Notifications. You can opt out of push notifications through your device settings. Opting out may impact your use of certain Platform features (such as receiving notifications that a ride has arrived).
5.1.3 Profile Information. While your name will be shared with Drivers and relevant trip participants, you can delete additional profile information you added at any time. Riders will generally be able to see Drivers’ names, ratings, profile photos, and vehicle information.
5.1.4 Location Information. You can prevent your device from sharing location information through your device settings. However, location is core to the Zoom Zoom Platform, and disabling it may prevent us from providing services.
5.1.5 Editing and Accessing Your Information. You can review and edit certain account information in your account settings (Drivers may edit additional information through the Driver portal). If you would like to terminate your Zoom Zoom account, please contact support@zoom.cab. If you terminate your account, we will deactivate it but may retain certain information as described in this Privacy Policy for legal, safety, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes.
5.1.6 Deleting Your Account. If you would like to delete your Zoom Zoom account, you can remove some information by logging in and editing your profile, saved locations, or payment methods. Other information is necessary for the operation, safety, and security of the Platform. In some cases, we may be unable to delete an account (or certain data) where there is a trust, safety, fraud, legal, or regulatory issue. When we delete an account, we may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or to comply with legal or regulatory obligations, including to resolve open claims or disputes. If you would like to request deletion, please contact support@zoom.cab.
5.2 Privacy Rights (United States and Canada)
5.2.1 United States – State Privacy Rights. Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. These rights may include (subject to verification and legal exceptions):
a. The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share;
b. The right to access a copy of the personal information we maintain about you;

f. The right to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.
5.2.2 Canada – Privacy Rights. If you are located in Canada, you may have rights under applicable Canadian privacy laws to request access to and correction of your personal information in our custody or control, and to withdraw consent for certain uses of your information (subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice). In some cases, withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide services through the Zoom Zoom Platform.
5.2.3 Targeted Advertising and “Sale/Sharing” of Personal Information. Zoom Zoom may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to help measure advertising performance and improve our marketing. Depending on applicable law and how these technologies are used, this activity may be considered “targeted advertising” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. Zoom Zoom does not knowingly sell personal information in exchange for money. Where applicable law provides opt-out rights for targeted advertising or sharing, you may request to opt out by contacting us as described below.
5.2.4 How to Submit a Privacy Request. To submit a request to access, delete, correct, or opt out (as available under applicable law), please contact us at support@zoom.cab with the subject line “Privacy Request.” Please include enough information for us to verify your identity and locate your account (such as the phone number and email associated with your Zoom Zoom account). We may request additional information to verify your identity before processing your request.
5.2.5 Authorized Agents (U.S.). In some jurisdictions, you may be allowed to designate an authorized agent to submit a privacy request on your behalf. We may require proof that the agent is authorized and may still require you to verify your identity directly with us.
5.2.6 Appeals (U.S.). Where required by applicable law, if we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response email and stating that you would like to “Appeal Privacy Decision.” We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
5.2.7 Retention and Legal Exceptions. Even where deletion or limitation is requested, we may retain and use certain information as permitted or required by law, including for safety and security, fraud prevention, compliance, dispute resolution, accounting/tax obligations, enforcing agreements, and incident or insurance claim handling.
6. Other
