Mills

Chief Executive Officer/Owner

As the President of ZMC DESIGN + BUILD, Zadok Mills is a seasoned professional who brings his passion for custom homebuilding and home renovation to every project. His superior knowledge of construction and commitment to providing quality craftsmanship right down to the last detail allows him to provide his customers with a stress-free experience.

Zadok began his first business in 2003 as a framing subcontractor, received his contractor’s license in 2007, and went on to become a licensed Building Contractor in the State of Florida with over 20 years of building experience. He looks forward to continuing the legacy of crafting exceptional homes for residents throughout the Tampa Bay area for years to come.

Executive Assistant

As the Executive Assistant for ZMC DESIGN + BUILD, Erin Mills enjoys working alongside her husband and the ZMC Team. Her commitment to professionalism, high-quality design, and customer service is unmatched. From start to finish on a project, she loves seeing a client’s vision come to life before their eyes. Erin is a former school teacher and current stay at home mom raising four amazing children. She is a vital component in helping each of the projects crafted by ZMC to become a showcase of the client’s individual preferences, style, and lifestyle.

Dunsford

Chief Operating Officer

Mark joined the ZMC team full-time after previously serving as a valued consultant. With 15 years of experience as a school administrator across multiple levels, he brings a strong background in operations management and human resources. As Chief Operations Officer, Mark is dedicated to ensuring that every detail of a project is thoughtfully managed so that workflow remains seamless and efficient. He believes every client and every project deserves the highest standard of excellence—not only from ZMC’s employees, but from every individual representing the company on a client’s property. Drawing on his expertise and leadership, Mark works to ensure that ZMC consistently delivers a professional, well-coordinated experience that reflects the company’s commitment to excellence, quality, professionalism, and collaboration.

Derrick

Cox

Construction Manager

As a member of the ZMC Team, Derrick brings an added opportunity for growth and development. After graduating high school in Holland, he chose to move to Florida and work in commercial construction, specifically metal stud framing. He was hired by a large Orlando-based building firm and worked his way up to the position of Superintendent. He has supervised projects for many well-known companies like Disney, Universal, and NASA, as well as many government jobs. He is OSHA certified and is trained in all arial lift equipment. Derrick has over 20 years of construction experience managing multiple crews and projects and is excited to bring his skills and expertise to ZMC. Off the job, he enjoys camping, boating, and fishing with his wife, and their two children.

Shawna

Whitener

Office Manager

As the Office Manager at ZMC Design + Build, Shawna brings a background in education and a strong foundation in organization, communication, and operational support. Her years in the classroom sharpened her ability to manage details, coordinate moving parts, and create systems that keep everything running smoothly — all of which translate seamlessly into the fast-paced world of design-build construction.
She is passionate about creating structure behind the scenes so our team can focus on what they do best: delivering beautiful, high-quality projects for our clients.

During her off time, she enjoys time with her husband and 3 kids and serving at their church.

Kyle

Harpster

Carpenter

Kyle has been working in the construction industry for the past 12 years. Before pursuing a career in construction, he studied Criminal Justice while playing college baseball at Gannon University. He began his career in construction in his home state of Pennsylvania and continued his tenure here in sunny Florida. He specializes in window and door installations but also has experience in roofing and siding. Off the job, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and their two furry felines.

Jeff has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. As a skilled craftsman and carpenter, he can tackle any project and is a vital part of the ZMC Team! Off the job, he enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife, and their son.
