What We Do

Justice Built with Young People
in Mind

We represent young people ages 26 and under who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. Across all five boroughs, our legal services, community partnerships, and policy advocacy and organizing work together toward one goal: lasting change, one day led by those most affected.

Community Lawyering

How We Work: We Come To You

Partnerships are central to our community lawyering model. Our attorneys travel across all five boroughs to deliver Know Your Rights workshops, strengthen partner capacity, and provide legal representation in the communities where young people live.

By minimizing barriers to reentry and access to support, we help position clients for long-term stability and success.

“Where I'm from does not define who I am but where I'm from made me who I am today. That’s the same for a lot of other young people like me in New York. They are worthy of support just like me, not incarceration.” - Jalyll Wright, Youth Committee

Youth Driven

Directly Impacted Youth Are Partners In The Work

Young people directly and indirectly impacted by the legal system shape our work. They help guide our legal services, strategic litigation, and advocacy campaigns while building the skills and experience to lead in their own communities through our Youth Committee and youth development programs.
