Across Australia, too many young people with disabilities are being left behind — stuck in aged care, hospital wards, and rehab centres. Not because they need to be there, but because there’s nowhere else for them to go.
THE ISSUE
Thousands of young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities are being left behind.
They are stuck in institutions and other inappropriate housing that is not suitable for their age or care needs. These young people experience inequality, exclusion and social isolation through limited access to their communities and lack of representation.
