I saw this going around my flist, and I felt like doing it, so here you go.
If you've done this, please link me to it in case I've missed it, because I would love to be able to grant someone elses wish.
My contact information is in my profile, if you need my home address, I'll figure out a way to get it to you, because I'm not comfortable giving it out in a public post.
Also:
HOW DO I ALLOW ANONYMOUS COMMENTS IN ONE POST?Step OneMake a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/ computer/ house/ TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step TwoSurf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My ListIn no real order, this is my list:
1. A surprise you think I might like. I love the surprises better than anything I actually wish for.
2. Icons. I'd love a personalized icon with my name on it. Either just my name, or with one/two of the boys on it. Jensen, Jared, Chris, Steve. I'd love to have more icons with Chris, Steve and/or Chris/Steve.
3. Finish fics. This wish is probably not the easiest to grant. But I want nothing more than to finish the fic I'm working on in time for the next
spn_j2_bigbang. I'm determined to complete this one on time. So I wish for anything you can think of to make me complete this story faster, be it cheerleading or any other incentive you might think of.
4. An American beta. This wish is tied in with the wish above, just a little more specific. As great as my beta is, and as much as I love her, I need for someone to help me get rid of all the British expressions and spelling I'm probably using, to make it as good as it could be.
5. Friends. I would love to get to know all of you better, because you all seem like pretty awesome people.
6. Fic. I would love to read domestic!threesome RPS fics with Jensen and/or Jared part of the pairing. I'm not too picky about what it is exactly, I just want to read threesome fic that isn't all about the sex.
7. Music. I love getting introduced to new music and I've found some of my favorite artists and songs this way. I listen to almost everything, except jazz, opera and hiphop.
8. Pay it forward. Take a moment to find a way to make those less fortunate have a better Christmas. There are many organizations out there to which you can donate to. It doesn't have to be money, it could be something you bought but never used, that someone else is in need of and is happy to have. Donate toys or books that you no longer read to the local children's hospital. Or whatever you can think of to make someone elses Christmas as happy as yours will be.
9. Tic Tac's. The candy. It's not for sale in Sweden anymore, and I'm honestly not sure if it still even
exists, but I really miss it.
10. For everyone on my flist to do this, so that I can fulfill some of your wishes. And if you've already done it, link me to it, please?
