This is seriously the only place I've lived that's had its own super specific slang.

Please stop whining to my local newspapers about the recent death in the Fantastic Four. It's not the end of the world. It's not even as interesting as when Captain America died. Yeah, okay, they're Marvel's first family. I get it. But honestly, I was surprised something like this didn't happen in Civil War. And as for the actual death... Hickman, I expected more.

Then I came home and sewed a lolita skirt and belted Malice Mizer at the top of my lungs. Much to the chagrin of my neighbors, I'm sure. They broke up what, 10 years ago now? Yeah. Yeah...

In other news, I've decided I want Der Røzenkavalier to look like a twisted blend of Mana and Kozi. Lots of florals and gothic elegance, then suddenly clowns. Maybe a pirate hat too. We'll see.

Okay, yeah, I'm done.

So uh. Every time I read Children's Crusade I feel like I get trolled by Marvel.

I'm a big fan of last page reveals. I'm also a big fan of going balls out crazy on the plot. The Silver Age is the Best Age and all that. But you know what the Silver Age had? Continuity. Oh, yeah, sure, it was all laughs and stupid little editors notes -- "As we learned in Fantastic Four #152" -- But they made an effort.

I don't know if Heinberg even read the issues his characters are supposedly spawned from. Seriously.

And that last most recent last page reveal? /sakljdfjfk How does that even make sense? I mean it's a comic book, but really?

Yeah I. Don't even know anymore. At least Batman Beyond continues to please me.

But there is going to be a Yoshiki and Marvel Motion Comic. What the fuck, man. I do not know whether to be happy or just... Confused.

So yeah. Everything else is super in progress and I can't grab a good pic while it's on me, but here goes.

Yesterday Iron Man 2 came out on DVD. Unsurprisingly, I acquired it. So that has fueled my Thor-making. I wanted to do a 1960s Iron Man before (something like this one), so uhh... Since I always wanted to make an Ant-Man and Wasp anyway... Should I just say that I plan on making all the original Avengers? ... /sigh. Spandex shouldn't be so easy to sew. It gives me bad ideas.

Anyway, my room is still a wreck and I have people coming to stay with me in 8 days. lkdjljf So I need to finish sewing and clean. Woohoo.

Today I sewed the leotard for Thor. It's just plain old black spandex, but it's based on the pattern from my old ballet uniform, so it fits BEAUTIFULLY. I must have worn this particular style of leotard for four years, so. Yes. It is brilliant. I had to alter the neck and shoulders, obviously, but overall it's just lovely and so so comfy. Further, I think I'm going to create like... A chest binding suit? out of the same pattern. It would bind the cleavage, yes, but it would also smooth out the stomach and prevent having that awkward sports bra/ace bandage/binder line along the ribcage. Idk, it works in my head.

Also, the helmet is going well and I can hack up plastic Christmas ornaments for the bobble things. Pics will come soon, promise.

Oh, and work is boring. It's been rainy, so not a whole lot of traffic. Overall snoozetastic.

So apparently I am anemic. Who knew? Anyway, it's just a very basic iron deficiency based anemia. Apparently my fondness for leafy green vegetables has to do with them being rich in iron and my body demanding it subtly through an usual constant hankering for broccoli. Fun.

I am also apparently a thunder god. Charles talked me into making Thor of NYCC and now it's being pushed up to BACC because my schedule rocks this week and I can actually do things on the weekend. Wheeeee. Meanwhile I still need to finish Jason and Robin and Zatanna and Enchantress oh my. /sob

Day 11: A song from your favorite band


L'Arc~en~Ciel has been my favorite band for a little over ten years now. Other bands come and go, but they are definitely one I always go back to. Additionally, I can do the dance at the end of this video. Yes, I'm slightly ashamed.
