You will need to provide your own licenses for any software that needs it. We provide the server, what you do with it is up to you.
You can purchase an additional license or simply transfer your current license to the Xesktop server as long as your software provider has an online licensing tool (e.g. Octane and Redshift). You can use the same license on your workstation as well as on the Xesktop servers interchangeably. However, remember to make sure you released any licenses that you have activated on the server every time you’re finished using it.
NOTE: We don’t allow purchasing licenses that require using a MAC address because we can’t guarantee full compatibility.
For best performance and compatibility please install your software on C: (system drive) and save any project data and output data on U: (dedicated storage). Data stored on U: drive can also be accessed via FTP any time even when the server is turned off. Refer to the question below for more details about FTP.
You can access your personal storage drive using any FTP client. You can upload and download files both when the server is on and off.
NOTE: Only connect to your storage via FTP after launching your first system image for the first time which is a required step for the storage to be created. If you connect to your drive via FTP before launching the image, the storage on your account may not work properly. After the successful initial image launch, you can connect to your storage anytime both when the server is on and off.

Yes, you can. Your web management dashboard will allow you to create and access all your system images when you see fit, and you can always rent more than one server as long as there are any available.
Once your credits run out, you will no longer be able to access your servers. We recommend topping up enough to avoid interruption in your work.
We refund by way of restoring credit, if you were unhappy with the service because of some fault in the infrastructure or anything we are accountable for. Monetary refunds are considered on a case to case basis.
Billing starts as soon as a server or servers that you turned on are up and running. The billing ends when you shut down the servers (and they are turned off).
Yes. All the applications you installed are saved and preserved on the system image.
Your files will remain in your shared storage folder for 30 days since last activity. Please note that we do not allow storing scenes or render data on C: drive or your desktop. Please always use dedicated storage. In addition, you can access your data stored on the dedicated drive by FTP any time without needing to have your server turned on.
Updating GPU drivers isn't allowed at this moment because it might hang the server and will likely lead to its instability. Please contact our support to get instructions on how to do it if you need to update drivers. Also, the minimum version supported is 387.92.
Because 3ds Max’s core architecture isn’t compatible with more than 9 GPU cards, you will need to disable one of the graphics cards in Windows settings. Go to Windows Start, type Device Manager, open Display adapters, right click on one of the cards and select Disable device.
Our GPU servers have multiple GPU cards each. Render engines are not always capable of using all cards optimally with the default settings or render setup. What you can try to do to optimize the performance:
Set proper bucket (tile) size unless you are using progressive mode (which might not be optimal) so that each GPU card can get an even part of the rendered frame to work on.
Launch multiple instances. Some render engines cannot use all the GPU cards optimally even with the optimal bucket size or simply might be unstable with that many GPU cards available. The solution is to use multiple instances of your 3D app, which means running your 3D app a few times simultaneously each with different frame ranges. Each instance should use only a number of available GPU devices.
For some 3D applications, it is just a matter of launching them a few times, but for example, Cinema 4D will refuse to start another instance by default. You have to add -parallel parameter in the Target path to the shortcut of Cinema 4D to be able to launch another instance e.g. "C:\Program Files\Maxon\Cinema 4D\Cinema 4D.exe" -parallel
You shall store your project files and save all rendered frames to the shared storage that we provide (U drive) and NEVER to C: drive or desktop.
Unfortunately, by default, Dropbox can't use a network drive for the sync folder location. Upon request, we will provide you with a workaround for that. Thus your Dropbox folder will be only synced once and will be uniform across all system images.
Please let us know via our live chat when you want to use Dropbox to sync your projects, and we will set it up for you.
