XACT by Micro Systemation AB (MSAB) is an advanced mobile forensics and research tool designed for expert practitioners who need low-level access to data from mobile devices. It complements MSAB’s XRY and XAMN products by allowing investigators to inspect raw physical and file system images, validate extraction results, and recover additional artifacts that may not be decoded by default. XACT supports browsing and searching binary data, exploring file systems, carving artifacts, and developing or refining custom decoders for new devices or app versions. Findings can be exported back into the MSAB ecosystem to support comprehensive analysis and reporting, helping agencies maintain a forensically sound, end-to-end workflow for complex cases.
XACT is developed by Micro Systemation AB. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.6, 1.7, 2.5, 8.0 and 9.0. The names of program executable files are XACT.exe, xts.exe.
