When I was growing up in China, sacrifice meant less meat, no toys for the new year. Now the Chinese government calls on its citizens to sacrifice to fight the trade war by eating out, staying at 5-star hotels when on vacation, buying new cars. Hardship ahead for the Chinese.

- Replying to @zzbarAnd if you don’t have enough money to buy a new Air conditioner, the government will subsidize the cost to make sure you get one. If you don’t use that voucher for a new computer in time, the authoritarian local Mayor will take it away.
- Replying to @BeijingDaiAnd China demands a Chinese observer (a minder of sort) at Ford and GM to monitor their Rare Earth compliance, just like how US installed an observer at ZTE to monitor its compliance of Huawei sanction. A taste of America’s own bitter medicines.

- Replying to @BeijingDaiI like Huawei. But this is silly. The folding mechanism is nothing advanced. No doubt Apple could make a folding phone. The key question is: is the tradeoff (clunky size and durability vs elegance and simplicity) worth it. IMO, no.
- The USAID funded Hong Kong rioters, Xinjiang separatists, and “Uyghur genocide” hoaxes, and countless smear attacks. - Replying to @CarlZhaApple is no longer a “status symbol”, it is now a consumer staple like Colgate and Johnson& Johnson. People buy Apple products because they’re easy to use and last longer than the alternatives. I like Huawei, for Huawei to win, Apple doesn’t have to lose, and Vice versa.
- Replying to @nikstankovic_I see a conspiracy: The photo machine is “broken” because they had a deal with the nearby photo shops. They probably get a kickback of your $2 photo.
