I'm not buying this '20% more congestion after bike tax ban' story because it is entirely based on #TomTom index which should not be taken seriously in the first place. Only authority that can make statements about congestion (even they don't have any specific metric) is

Once folks learn the importance of control systems, people will stop buying cars with manual transmissions. Humans can't beat a good computer shifting gears or controlling power. ICE Auto w/Paddle Shifters or EV's will always be a better car for the majority of people out there.

It took semiconductors, rare-earth magnets, gearboxes with crazy ratios and so many FEA optimization runs to maximize A and minimize v in this equation. Power (W) = 1/2 x ρ x A x (v^3) That's before we get into the wavy blade design. Makes those fans very silent.

Every engineering kid in India tells me they never had the money to buy an Arduino to play around/program at home. But almost all of them seem to have had the money for culinary delights/expensive transport options and telephony devices.

Visited a transformer factory in 2018 as part of an industrial visit. The factory mostly supplies transformers to rural areas. The transformers had aluminum wires because copper wires lead to higher theft. Collectively, as a society, we now pay for higher transmission losses.

Bhai Koramangala ka transformer Roz kharaab hota hai, 3 hours power cut daily. Best city in India for engineers sitting inside AC offices. :)

Too many folks pick Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering because they don't want to write code. The nature of engineering today is to represent everything with code. Yes, you can get by without it, but the ones who can code will move faster.

400 USD for Fusion 360 in India. The lowest cost commercial CAD package in the Industry today. Lack of accessible CAD continue to keep the ability to experiment and play limited to certain departments within an organization for mechanical engineering.

Interesting note from the analysts, costs between India and China are the same, except for supplier margins. I only see assembly costs in India going downwards for the next few years, so we should be able to compete in most industries vs China.

Ace Micromatic group launched a Mill for the education market this year so you don't have to go into debt to learn machining. Also, if you really want to learn machining as an engineer, IMTMA Learning center is great.

There aren't enough motorized objects in our daily lives in India. Curtains, windows, soap dispensers and so many more applications can be motorized to improve quality of life. Distribution(Wiring) of electricity in homes is the key problem limiting automation in existing homes.

These projects are insulated from the common bureaucracy of municipal projects through special instruments the government has at it's disposal. So it's a bad take. We're very capable of building good infrastructure in India. Even in cities, if we want to.
