Here's an example of why arming teachers is NOT a good idea. If the teacher had been armed, he/she would have faced the very real dilemma of whether or not to respond with lethal force to this 12 year old instead of being able to wrest the gun away. desmoinesregister.com/story/news/201…

So sorry you're now a member of a group that no one wants to be in (Columbine for me). I would ask @charliekirk11 how long the Columbine shooters planned their havoc. Neither of them were trans. Why the focus on the trans community?

While I agree with the message, this meme does a disservice because 5 and 6 year olds CAN'T cope with active shooter drills. They're forced to participate, but studies have shown those kids suffer trauma....sometimes severe trauma. Words should be "can be forced". More impact.

As the parent of Columbine survivors, I can say I came very close to giving up. Still feel like am spitting into a hurricane, but gotta keep going.
I’ve had people reach out to me in the last 24 hours and say things like, “I feel hopeless” or “I don’t know how you keep doing this work.” And while as a full-time volunteer for a decade I understand this sentiment, I ask you in all sincerity, WHAT IS THE OTHER FUCKING OPTION?

Allowing my kids to go back to Columbine following their trauma was the hardest thing I ever did. It was their decision to do so, though, and I honored that. Peace be with you, @TheJoker_really as you travel down your own road of healing.

From November, 2021: npr.org/2021/11/09/104… NRA chose to go ahead with national convention in Denver only 10 days after Columbine massacre. Doubt they'll change their mind on Houston convention.

Please, I respectfully ask you to consider rephrasing from lives "lost" to lives "taken". In this context, 'lost' isn't appropriate, IMO. They didn't 'lose' their lives. Thank you.

Thank you for what you do. I'm a Columbine parent whose daughter was critically injured. I just wrote about the NRA tweet debacle today for anyone interested: rdtdaily.com/my-two-cents-n…

Gonna go out on a limb here and say you are absolutely correct. Being a retired emergency management specialist, I found it incredibly difficult to care for my own daughter post-Columbine massacre. My heart is with you and with your colleague.

NRA needs to stay in THEIR lane. Columbine parent whose daughter was critically injured. Grateful forever to med pros who saved her life, but am saying educators go thru similar w/active shooter drills all the time: rdtdaily.com/my-two-cents-n…

Up until Katrina, issues with looting were largely myth. Even with Katrina, some 'looting' turned out to be folks trying to stay alive by taking foodstuff from grocery stores. The good Senator is promoting a commonly held belief in paranoid circles.

Don't know if you've seen this or not, but thought you and your followers might be interested. NRA got called out on their bluff. Ball is in their court:
