A startup is not a company: it's an experiment to see if a company deserves to exist. Until p/m-fit, speed of hypothesis testing trumps everything. Startups die when they spend faster than they learn.
For years @merci & I have been trying to have kids. Many obstacles, including a scary ectopic that required life-saving emergency surgery.
I'm a pro-business centrist, but my "single-issue" is my wife, and all women, being treated as human beings.
Long-term moats:
1. Network effects: each cust adds value to all
2. System of record: own critical data
3. Platform: many corpsβ success depend on yours

When VCs trash-talk a business:
When they have a competitor in their portfolio, I'm like: "β₯οΈ that you root for your team"
When they don't, I'm like: "π€·ββοΈ why would you do that?"
If youβre an early stage investor, a current bull or bear market shouldnβt affect your approach. The companies youβre investing in, if they succeed, will go public in a market thatβs years from now.
What does the market today tell us about the market years from now? Nothing.
Want to get what you ask for?
Negotiate.

Here are the two things I did to get better at it:
1/ Read this book: amazon.com/Never-Split-Diβ¦
2/ Use my cheat sheet: docsend.com/view/jmc6vs5
