People living in poverty are actually really good at choosing what they should spend money on.

'Everyone as individuals does have an important role to play.' Are we too relaxed about the coronavirus? @xandvt shares his views with @MissAlexjones and @GethincJones. #TheOneShow

There are staff at nursing and care homes - paid a tiny fraction of Cummingsโ€™ salary - many have children - who literally moved in and slept there so as to avoid spreading the virus to their residents.

Recent spike in UK coronavirus cases is result of "fraying of people's discipline" over the summer, Boris Johnson says bbc.in/2Gscyzh

Met this nice young man as I was running for my train. Always happy to have a selfie with a fan if I can - good luck to him!

I visited one of the hardest hit care homes in Peterborough. 7/18 residents died in two weeks. The only place I have visited that took every single precaution perfectly to no avail. They had no help & no guidance. They were distraught. It is appalling to blame them.
"We discovered too many care homes didn't really follow the procedures in the way they could have." This attempt by @BorisJohnson to blame care homes for 20k residents' deaths is disgraceful. Staff wore *bin bags*. No PPE. No testing. Abject govt failure. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/โ€ฆ

If you want an example of the benefits of state funding start with @cbbc: thereโ€™s no other place for childrenโ€™s entertainment that as safe, as educational & as careful to include & represent. Only The BBC could make @OperationOuch.

Michael was an unbelievably generous, warm and lovely man. This is the last time I saw him and how Iโ€™ll remember him.

It would have been good to have kept the numbers of infections down through the year so the virus had fewer opportunities to mutate.

In the UK today 51.89% of people have been vaccinated. To the 48.11% of people who havenโ€™t been I say: โ€œYou lost. Get over it. Thatโ€™s how democracy works.โ€

Poor Peter Hitchens has been bullied into having a non-compulsory vaccination he doesnโ€™t want by a former prime minister he hates in order to get a โ€œvaccine passportโ€ that doesnโ€™t exist. Brilliant stuff. I encourage all #covidskeptics to follow his example

If you find anyone trying to justify this on public health/ covid grounds please send them my way and Iโ€™ll explain a bit about the transmission of airborne viruses which (one more time) doesnโ€™t really happen out doors. Especially when people are silent.
Violence against women in a silent, peaceful vigil. I canโ€™t see any benefit here - there is certainly none from a covid point of view - only harm. This seems to represent so much of what the vigil was supposed to address. Terrifying for anyone hoping to rely on the police.
