- For the 15th time, the White House will choose its Christmas tree from North Carolina. No other state has sent more Christmas trees to the home of the President. This year's tree will come from Ashe County.

- .@AP reports: The North Carolina Attorney General's Office has announced a $20 million settlement with Frontier, the sole internet option for parts of western North Carolina, that will require it to make investments in infrastructure in the coming years.
- District Attorney Andrew Womble said Pasquotank County deputies perceived Andrew Brown Jr.'s moving vehicle as a threat. This perceived danger justified the use of deadly force, Womble said.
