Severe AS can progress rapidly & unpredictably from asymp. to advanced symptoms. Age/biomarkers/cardiac damage/LV health can’t predict its outcome. I’m teaming up w/ @EdwardsLifesci to get the word out: Prompt referral upon diagnosis can be lifesaving—regardless of pts’ symptoms.
A white background with maroon text that reads, “25% of asymptomatic patients under watchful waiting required AVR within 6 months due to symptom onset.” A bar line illustrating 25% lies below the number.

My patient’s dog died a few months ago and he stopped walking. He hasn’t gotten a new dog because his wife was worried that she would be left alone to take care of it. I wrote this Rx and told him to tell his wife that it’s my job to keep him around #DogRx #ExerciseIsMedicine

11 yrs ago today my father died from pancreatic cancer. I was cleaning my office and saw the Braunwald’s he got for me during 1st year fellowship. 1) His favorite bible verse Philippians 4:13 2) God gave you 2 ears and 1 mouth. Listen twice as much as you talk #TipsForNewDocs

It’s interesting that we hear about the doctors that have died but what about the nurses, respiratory techs, and other frontline healthcare staff? Are they not dying too?
