I spotted five family bikes at a single junction this morning. Not an event or a photoshoot; just the school run in London🚲 Over 250,000 cars do the morning school run in LDN - our bike lanes & school streets are enabling families to choose better options. 🚲🚶‍♀️🛴👨‍🦽🤸‍♀️

People keep telling me that because the UK had a heatwave in 1976, climate change is overhyped. So here’s the global heat anomaly maps from June 1976 and June 2022. data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/maps/

Well done Bury Police 👏👏 The reason that the Tesla Cybertruck is prohibited in the UK is that its size, weight, poor visibility & angular steel exoskeleton etc fail to meet our safety standards that are essential in protecting the lives of other road users.
#SEIZED | Officers from #GMPTransportUnit stopped this Tesla Cybertruck in #Whitefield last night 🚔 The driver was a permanent UK resident, but the vehicle was registered and insured abroad, which is prohibited in the UK. The car was later seized and the driver was reported.

Same city, same day, same time, but two only slightly different streets. Trees in cities are good! 🎄🌲🏡🌴🌳🌴🏡🌲

I've just spoken to one of the @TfL data scientists. She said the weekend cycle figures were so high she thought the system had broken. She checked. It hadn’t. They’re just up almost 300% at the high flow sites. Wow! #StreetspaceLDN 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲

💥Boom💥 New data: In less than 12 months @MayorofLondon @TfL & @londoncouncils have built 100km of new cycle lanes & hundreds of km of quieter streets. The result? Last weekend we saw a 200%+ increase in cycling (300%+ in some places). Amazing!! Build it & they will come.🚲🚲🚲

The Highway Code is changing - giving priority to people walking and cycling. V welcome and long overdue - but not a silver bullet. We’ll continue to build new cycle lanes & pedestrian crossings and work with @metpoliceuk to enforce the law.

The election results across London were a ringing endorsement for continuing to make our streets safer for walking & cycling. I can’t wait to get cracking and deliver the @MayorofLondon’s ambitious new manifesto. We’ll build back greener, cleaner and better.

Fantastic to see the new cycle lane going in on Park Lane last night - making it safer for more people to cycle and socially distance in London. Great work by @TfL delivering the @MayorofLondon’s #StreetspaceLDN plan.

I have no problems with a law on death by dangerous cycling – everyone must obey the rules of the road. But in 2022, 1760+ people were killed on UK roads – 3 involved someone being hit by a bike. What’s the gov plan for stopping 5 people being killed a day by motor vehicles?
'30,000 people are killed or seriously injured on our roads every year, less than 3 involving a cyclist' Former Olympic cycling champion Chris Boardman spoke to #BBCBreakfast about Government plans to make causing death or serious injury by dangerous or careless cycling an

20mph speed limits in London has cut fatal & serious collisions by 25%. 🚲👨‍🦽‍➡️🚶❤️ And now car insurance companies are saying that it’s helping reduce the cost premiums because of fewer claims. 💷💷💷
The boss of a car insurance comparison website says UK insurance premiums are down partly thanks to 20 mph speed limits leading to fewer claims. linkedin.com/posts/european…
