- Ready to go for #AMIA2021, my 36th consecutive AMIA Annual Symposium. I first attended this meeting when it was called the Symposium on Computer Applications in Medicine (SCAMC) in 1986, and I have attended each fall, including the all-virtual meeting last fall.

- On my way to @AMIAinformatics #AMIA2023, my 38th consecutive year attending this meeting. I have not missed this meeting since my first one in 1986, when many of my current students were not yet born. It is the premier academic #informatics meeting.
- I was honored to be awarded the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award yesterday by the HIMSS Oregon Chapter at their 2023 Annual Meeting. The award was a total surprise to me, although I had also been on the agenda to give a talk about my quarter-century journey leading /1
