    Yesterday afternoon, @GovInslee shared the great news that all school employees will now be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time. We have urged districts to work in partnership with local vaccine providers on ways to expedite the process for our school staff. (1/2)

    Yesterday, the House Education Committee passed HB 1664, which would increase the number of staff in schools to support student mental health & well-being. The Committee amended the bill to require every public school to have at least one nurse and one counselor on site. #WAedu

While the original bill would increase the number of school nurses, the Education Committee recognized the need for more staff supporting student mental health and well-being, and amended the bill to also increase the number of school social workers, psychologists, and counselors!
