- Vlad, the young commander in our @BBC film Ukraine: Enemy in the Woods has been killed in battle. He joined the Ukrainian infantry after his hometown was invaded by Russia. Admired for his bravery and leadership. He dreamed of getting his HGV license. He was 19. RIP Vlad.
- Vovan, the central figure in our @BBC film 'Ukraine: Enemy in the Woods' has been killed alongside 5 comrades in a Russian tank attack. A kind, genuine soul who cared deeply for his men. Rarely seen without a smile. He leaves behind a wife & two sons. Rest in peace Vovan.
- We were granted incredible access to a frontline infantry company, to film Ukraine's war with surprising immediacy & intimacy. Europe’s bloodiest war in living memory, through the eyes of the people fighting it. UKRAINE: ENEMY IN THE WOODS @bbciplayer @bbctwo @bbc 9pm 25th March
00:00 - Replying to @visitjamie and @BBCUkrainian forces are outnumbered and outgunned right now. If the West really want to make a difference it is critical that they move lightening fast, or deal with the consequences. "War is young men dying and old men talking"
- Replying to @visitjamieVovan was a steelworker from central Ukraine. He told me he wanted to repel the Russians then rebuild his country. A brilliant man, if you haven't met him please watch the film. It was down to him we made it, he filmed most of it, Jesus what a sad end.
- "The chaos of war has rarely, if ever, been depicted with this much intimacy." ★★★★★
00:00- Great to see Escape from Kabul nominated for a BAFTA. The film is available to watch on BBC iPlayer
- Trailer for the film I've been making for the past year - War Child on C4 10.30pm March 12th - "Groundbreaking" say UNICEF :)
00:00 - Replying to @amer1nh0Correct, but crediting people is the decent thing to do, so it’s appreciated 👍
