T minus 3 months! My second novel, Liberty Island, will be out May 5, wherever you buy books. I’m grateful Dana Perino, Allison Pataki, and Patti Callahan Henry for their kind words. I’ll post a link to preorder at the end of the thread. (Very helpful, if you’re inclined!)

Explaining “interoffice mail” to a 25-year-old. Re all the crossed off names, I said “it was like the borrowing card in the back of the library book.” Didn’t help - no frame of reference for that either. 😂

I knew Brett Kavanaugh in high school. We graduated same year. I never heard anything untoward about him.

🧵about my great uncle William Hume died eighty years ago today on Omaha Beach.

I also graduated from Holton-Arms in 1983. I have no recollection whatsoever of any discussion in or out of school of the alleged incident. As I've said previously, I knew Brett in high school and never heard anything untoward about him.
A former classmate of Christine Blasey Ford tells NPR she doesn't know if an alleged sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh took place as she first suggested on social media. n.pr/2QLyZzO

Briefly stepping back into Twitter to reiterate: The Brett Kavanaugh I know is a good and decent person, and I have never seen him treat women with anything but respect.

This is absurd. I signed the letter. I learned of it last night.

Proposal: Instead of making two-year-olds in NYC wear cloth masks all day, let’s have them all wear stickers that say “go away, Covid.” It would be just as effective, but way more comfortable. Win win!

Dear MS Word grammar checker: Thank you for your concern about my use of "Mrs." which you assert "may imply gender bias." I will not, however, adopt your suggestion to change it to "Ms." My novel is set in 1895.

Just reminiscing about that time 5 years ago, when my husband got yelled at for going against a grocery store floor arrow. Good times.
