    You know you're ready to graduate residency when your intern calls from the ER and your spouse picks up and says "He's in the shower right now but that sounds more like epididymitis than torsion. Get a UA and a scrotal utx and call right back." AND SHE'S RIGHT!

    I had a rough time in clinic yesterday. Saw a patient with very bad likely neuroendocrine prostate cancer that quickly metsd to lungs and liver. Had a hard time balancing being honest about prognosis vs. providing hope and comfort. Do others struggle with this like I do?

    This is my dad who is in a nursing home with dementia. I took this yesterday- which was the first day I had been allowed/able to see him in nearly a year. It was also the same day he got vaccinated so hopefully I can now start seeing him more regularly again. THANK YOU @pfizer.

    My father is in a SNF and has dementia. In January, he knew who I was and could still speak (barely). 3 months of isolation and he has lost his ability to communicate and doesn't recognize me on facetime. I know they meant well but COVID got him anyways. I really miss my dad 😢

    He won't brag on himself but I will. Congratulations to @StuReynoldsMD for getting not one but TWO R-01s in the last month. He joins @DanBarocas and @RoboDuke1 as R-01 funded surgeon-scientists on @VUMCurology faculty.

    Hospital administrators and other physician leaders keep asking me "what is this going to do to our budgets? How are we going to make ends meet?" PEOPLE, WE CAN'T WORRY ABOUT THAT NOW. WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THE SICK FOLKS. THE MONEY WILL SORT ITSELF OUT LATER.

    Absolute joy is your daughter with terrible asthma getting a COVID vaccine. Phew... I have lived the past year in fear of her getting the virus and ending up in severe respiratory failure. Seriously grateful to @VUMChealth and @TNDeptofHealth today.

    I went through all three hundred freaking-9-4 applications to our residency program. No step 1 cut-off. Read them all. My head is spinning...it's nice to be loved but no chance all 394 REALLY want to come here. THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY @UroAcademic

    It was two years ago this month that my father passed away. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear his voice in my head giving me life advice. Your legacy is the people you influence, mentor and help grow. I owe that man everything
