- We are deeply saddened to hear the news that her Majesty the Queen has died. Her Majesty holds a very special place in our history and in our affections.
- Dr Vishwaraj Vemala, one of our consultant hepatologists, saved the life of a passenger who suffered two cardiac arrests mid-flight. With limited supplies, Dr Vemala was able to resuscitate him before handing over to emergency crews on the ground. 📰: bit.ly/3Garf52
- We are so grateful to the Trustees and worshippers at the Guru Teg Bahadur Sikh Gurdwara in Wolverhampton for their generous donation, which has enabled us to buy tablets that keep families and friends connected whilst we can't have visitors in our hospitals.Thousands of meals are being served to vulnerable people across #Wolverhampton during the crisis by the city's #Sikh community. They've also raised £50,000 to buy equipment, to allow patients to keep in touch with their family, if they have to go into hospital.
00:00 - Husband and wife, David and Shirley Lihou (both 85) were the first to receive the Pfizer COVID vaccination today at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Shirley, who admitted she was “a bit apprehensive” before the injection, said afterwards: “I didn’t feel a thing.”
