my father died 3 months before i was born. he was stabbed by a mentally-ill neighbor while he was fixing a car. naingayan daw sa music. the killer was jailed but then he was set free. so yeah, i grew up seeing my father's killer passing by our house almost everyday.

- In Capiz, people often visit a tree called the anagas when they are ill, hanging clothes on it as a form of exchange for their health. They chant, “Anagas, anagas, paayuha akon lawas. Ako si Anagas, ikaw si [name of the ill]”
- Replying to @ugh_ardenrodi have no one alive to greet today. so apir sa mga wala ng tatay sa mundo. to my father, happy father's day, tatay. hindi man tayo nagkita at ang poot ng pagkamatay mo ang iniwan mo sa akin, but pls know that i cradle that pain in my heart to honor u.
- a filmmaker from Malaysia just asked me this morning, "how does a film get bootlegged?" i honestly don't know. it's his wish to have his films pirated. well, at least it already happened to my debut film. thanks? ahaha. sige na nga, sa inyo na yan. kahit papano naka-roi na kmi.now available: john denver trending (2019), directed by arden rod condez 🇵🇭 A fourteen-year-old farm boy’s life is suddenly upended when a video of him brutally attacking a classmate goes viral. drive: drive.google.com/drive/u/3/fold…
- akala ng iba, katamaran pero para sa mga nagsusulat, malaking bahagi ng trabaho ang pagtunganga.
- unfortunately, we decided not to submit. pero salamat dito. :)If there's one Filipino film that I'd love to be this year's Philippine entry for Best International Feature Film, it'd be Richard Jeroui Salvadico and Arlie Sweet Sumagaysay's docufiction TUMANDOK (The Inhabitants). And I'll gladly die on that hill.
- Replying to @ugh_ardenrodand that pain will always be my prompt to celebrate life. i couldnt post this on FB because my mother will see this and i dont want her crying. when i was a kid, her cries would make up in the middle of the night. i'm quite sure until now, iniiyakan nya pa rin ito. ayun lang.
- Replying to @ugh_ardenrodu can only imagine how traumatic that was for my mom who was widowed at 22, only 6 months after their wedding in guiguinto, bulacan. we live in antique. it was a sudden wedding because they learned she was pregnant. sudden death of my father came after.
- Replying to @ugh_ardenroda lot had been pranked by this. first timers would often be shocked to hear "this mass is offered for the soul of arden rod condez". it's so funny. i die every sunday. why am i telling this right now? well, it's father's day.
- Replying to @ugh_ardenrodthis tragedy made me embrace the idea of death at an early age. i was named after my father so i grew up hearing my name during novenas for his death anniversary. since his death in 1984 until today, a prayer is always petitioned for his soul every first mass on Sundays.
- in other news, magsisixty na nanay ko pero yung high school suitor nya nagkoconfess sa kanya sa messenger na hindi pa sya nakakamove on. 😭😫 wtf.

- I feel like Filipinos are too busy surviving to find time to pause & ponder the meaning of life. Should we, as filmmakers, do that on their behalf? Not even sure. Summarizing other people's lives and taking insights from them for one's art seems to come from a place of privilege.
