Most players don’t fail in recruiting because of talent. They fail because no one explains the process honestly. I’ve spent 25+ years on the recruiting side of college baseball. This account is where players & parents learn what actually matters. ⚾️

Watch Mike Tout in this video! This is the job of the on deck hitter executed perfectly by Trout telling the runner to slide and where to slide. @MikeTrout @Angels @MLB @TromblyTribe

True story. I’m about to quit coaching baseball. Just had an issue with an unrealistic parent and I’m over it. Parents are ruining youth sports. Such a big deal I am putting tbis out there.

This is sad. A parent notified me that their son was leaving our program. I messaged the player and thanked him for playing for us and wished him the best. He told me that his parent did that without asking him and he wants to play for us. This is sad for so many reasons.

College baseball recruiting is crazy and it’s weird seeing players on JV and Freshman HS teams with D1 verbal commitments.

One of my ‘23 Grads was recruited by a D1 school, he showed up to campus this fall and there were 58 players. Before practices even started Head Coach told freshman that they aren’t needed anymore and they could play without them because they brought in a bunch of transfers.

My job is CRAZY!!! I have former players texting me while playing in the World Series and 11 year old moms questioning our drills at practice. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Too many HS players don’t do what it takes to play college baseball and then at the 11th hour try and cram years of work in. I guess this is similar to what students do in the classroom; they are lazy all semester and want to do extra credit the last week to raise their grade.

I’m on record saying that “travel ball” (12U- 18U) is littered with players who don’t deserve to be at this level. The problems stem from these players and parents not understanding their ability and expecting more opportunities than they deserve.

High school players that think committing to a college is the hard part of their journey and that they “made it” when they commit are shellshocked when they get to campus. 1 of 7

Parents, When talking to your kids coaches, the second you start bad mouthing other players is the exact moment the conversation is over, you showed your hand and it’s weak.

I have worked in baseball for 25 years as a college coach, HS coach, academy owner, Future Stars Series National Coach, USA Baseball coach, PG National Director/VP of the WWBA, etc and the current state of baseball is frustrating for someone like me that’s all-in on the game.

Amateur baseball coaches that allow their players to act like dipshits are a disgrace to the game.

A college coach just said this to me about a player and it made me 😂: “The kid is good, but he’s been on so many damn teams the last year and a half that regardless of where he starts for college he’ll be in the transfer portal after his freshman year so he’s off my list”.
