This isn't what I wanted to happen for Commander, but it's what's necessary at this point. When you can't make difficult decisions without worrying about your safety and well-being, you can't run a format, especially one with a nontraditional point of view. (1/4)

- One note on the show: my wife came with me to visit Minneapolis and we snuck her onto the floor for a couple minutes so she could say hi. Her first comment: "There's a lot more women here than there used to be." Slow victory. Congrats to everyone who has helped along the way.
- Now that a MDFC card has been revealed that can be your commander, here’s how it works. There’s no rules changes. 1/4
- TIL that the RC has a list of cards we've instructed Wizards to not reprint. Thanks, Reddit! This is, of course, completely missing the truth for drama. Normally, I wouldn't bother giving it the time of day, but I found it interestingly illustrative, so a brief discussion. 1/10
- Replying to @tobyelliottI agree that we made mistakes, both before and after the announcement. In a lot of ways, we were trying to figure out how to operate in a post-Sheldon world. But I remain convinced that the bans will be a good thing for Commander and what we've been trying to accomplish. (2/4)
- Replying to @tobyelliottI look forward to working with the team at WotC to help carry the torch that Sheldon lit 20 years ago, and will continue to be a tireless advocate for social play. (4/4)
- Replying to @tobyelliottMy deepest thanks to everyone - my fellow RC members, the CAG, the folks on Discord and all the players who've found resonance in what we've tried to do over the years - for coming along with us on this crazy journey. (3/4)
- Speaking as a member of the RC, if you are involved in making/sharing the images that are apparently surfacing today and are a Commander player, please find a different format. Prefererably one that doesn’t involve Magic cards. Or cards.
- I'm always amazed when people say "if rule zero exists, why do you need a banlist?" You don't need rules, either, but making everyone derive everything from scratch to get to a reasonable starting place seems like a burden that should be avoided.
- Replying to @tobyelliottSince this has come up a few times, the back side is still your Commander, no matter what form it is currently taking. 5/4
- Folks are asking about the color identity of Mightstone+Weakstone. It's colorless. Color identity cares about the back of DFCs (CR 903.4d), but Meld cards are explicitly not DFCs (713.1b).
- Replying to @tobyelliottThere does exist a list. It's a list of cards we're possibly looking at banning or are potentially worried about in the future. As a partner, we try to keep Wizards informed as to what we're thinking so they can make informed decisions. 2/10
- There are new Magic tournament documents! I wrote about them at blogs.magicjudges.org/telliott/2023/… Mostly MTR updates, but a couple tweaks to the IPG too!
