- Hi! Former transplant pulmonologist here. Vaccines have ALWAYS been a requirement & anyone unwilling to be vaccinated to protect the precious resource that is the donor lung (knowing mortality & graft loss rates in unvaccinated people) is not a candidate for LTX.
