- EU bans Turkish airline due to links with Russia. I have been watching this airline since it was accused of moving people into BEL and St P-Burg RUS to push to the borders of POL and FIN. yahoo.com/news/media-eu-…
- Tu-214PU Airborne Command Posts RA-64531 RSD539 is now en route from Magadan RUS to Anchorage. It is possible that this aircraft could orbit while negotiations are ongoing relaying information back to Moscow.
- If an A-50 MAINSTAY was shot down, it was likely an A-50U, of which there are not many. Here is my list (which should be pretty accurate) and it could have been one of these aircraft.
- Tu-214SR Airborne Radio Relay Aircraft RA-64516 flew to Tel Aviv ISR (not tracked that I saw) and returned to Moscow. Interesting that it used ICAO RWZ016 and IATA WZ16 (Red Wings Airlines) that are typically used by aircraft flying that route (probably holiday charters).
- The Il-76 CANDID crash at Ivanovo: Videos show an engine on fire and falling off. Some reports say it was a bird strike - possible; however, consider that with UKR drones flying around and the RUS military on high alert, it could be a 'friendly fire' incident. Just a thought.
- SFS Il-96 RA-96023 RSD381 took off from Moscow (VKO) with a flightplan for Anchorage Alaska USA. This is not one of Putin’s aircraft and is likely carrying his ADVON team.
- I have a filter with just Iranian Airlines, Government and special interest aircraft, and while the sky is usually filled with them, this morning nothing is flying. There were a few earlier, but nothing after 0130Z. This could have something to do with what happened overnight
- Probable transfer of fighter/fighter-bomber from SYR to LBY: On 14 Jan, 223rd Special Flight Squadron Tu-154M CARELESS RA-85155 flew from Moscow Chkalovskij to Khmejmim Airbase SYR. This aircraft was one of the two Tu-154 that I believe was involved in a flyout of
- Now here is something we have not seen for awhile. RUS 224th Special Flight Squadron An-124 CONDOR RA-82038 is en route to K-Grad. The last time I saw this aircraft active was in Nov 2023 doing a test flight at Ulyanovsk.
- Another one I did not see coming. On 10 Mar Gelix Airlines Il-76TD CANDID RA-76373 flew from Novosibirsk to Algiers DZA. It departed on 11 Mar flying southwest and on 12 Mar arrived in Caracas VEN. It left there today and was last tracked flying over GTM.
- Interesting for a Sunday morning. Il-96PU CAMBER Airborne Command Post RA-96021 & RA-96024; Tu-214PU Airborne Command Post and Tu-214 RA-64521 headed east. RA-96024 is one of Putin’s planes (RA-96022 and possibly RA-96025 being others). The visit to MNG is still on for Tuesday.
- Look what just popped up: Il-96PU Airborne Command Post RA-96025, likely with Putin on board.
