๐ขBREAKING๐ข we have HACKED over 100 bus adverts across Londonโs TfL network ๐๐๐We replaced ads with stories from queer Palestinians, and a call for an end to the occupation ๐ต๐ธ
Today, we dropped a 30ft banner to say fuck the Cass Review. Trans youth know what they want and need. Itโs not being pathologized or patronised. It's accessing the support they deserve, whether safe housing, education or puberty blockers.
Happy lesbian visibility week! Weโre a group of trans, cis and nonbinary dykes and queers that formed to show our community as it really is - united and trans-inclusive โค๏ธโ๐ฅ #LesbianVisibilityWeek
100+ queer activists are partying outside inaugural event of โthe lesbian projectโ, a Julie Bindel + Kathleen Stock initiative claiming to protect lesbians from erasure by separating from trans people. Hope they hear this: us dykes, we're thriving, undivided! #onecommunity
Politicians will continue to create moral panics to divide us and distract us from their own failings. Instead of focusing on a lack of funding, long waiting lists and overstretched staff, the Cass Review ultimately calling to restrict trans healthcare. Enough is enough.
Just as our community did during the AIDS crisis, we will continue to demand access to the healthcare we need. We will work together to build grassroots care, community and support. We will fight for gender affirming healthcare which ensures trans and non-binary kids live.
Trans youth donโt need to be studied, managed or saved. They need the same opportunities and quality of care that their cis friends and family receive.
๐ฃThe Dyke Project is throwing a party๐๐พWe're a collection of trans, cis, non-binary lesbians & queers of all persuasions. Some want to sow hate and divide us by saying lesbians are being erased & need protecting -- so not true! We're thriving and strongest when together.
Weโve targeted bus stops near queer venues across the capital, and on TfL tube and rail networks, to show that the queer community stands with Palestine. None of us are free until all of us are free ๐ฅ
The stories shared come from the project @queeringthemap_, which has featured the testimonies of queer Gazans who have been subject to intensified Israeli bombardment over recent weeks.
Israel frequently uses โpinkwashingโ and a โprogressiveโ image for LGBTQ+ rights, to distract from and legitimise its terror and violence in Gaza. Queer people say NOT IN OUR NAME โ free Palestine โ๐พ๐ต๐ธโค๏ธโ๐ฅ
We are also calling for an end to British funding of Israelโs military. The British state is complicit in the genocide of Palestinians, and we DO NOT consent ๐ซ
This is why as queers, as dykes, we say NOT IN OUR NAMES! No pride in pinkwashing! No pride in genocide! Queer liberation means free Palestine, now and forever ๐ต๐ธ๐ต๐ธ๐ต๐ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
The first ever pride flag raised in Gaza ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
Yoav Atzmoni who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community wanted to send a message of hope to the people of Gaza living under Hamas brutality.
His intention was to raise the first pride flag in Gaza as a call for peace and freedom.
