The abuse, harassment and physical stalking that @atRachelGilmore currently endures is a glaring sign of a growing problem in our country. It's long overdue that whole lot more people stand up and call it out. We're proud to work with her this year and excited to share details.
🚨 PERSONAL NEWS 🚨 So thrilled to share that I’ve been working on a research project with McGill’s Centre for Media, Technology and Democracy. Can’t wait to spill all the juicy details, but for now, a huge thanks to @taylor_owen and @supriyadwivedi for bringing me on board.

Taking a playbook out of the US, too many right leaning Canadians seem to think that undermining facts and even reality in the public sphere will benefit them politically. They are dancing with the devil.

According to this @MartinPatriquin @the_logic article the head of policy for Facebook Canada, who sits on the advisory board of my department, has maligned my work at board meetings and suggested the school not promote it. I have things to say about this. financialpost.com/technology/thi…

If Google/Meta were genuine re their preference for a journalism fund they could simply set one up now, make it maximally inclusive & transparent, & align it with the exemption criteria in C18. Or they could block access to news in a PR fight aimed squarely at an int'l audience.
