- 27 years ago, 1600 black women took out a full page ad in the NYT to show support for Anita Hill. I was 20 years old. I put $25 toward the price of the ad and signed my name.
- Every black woman I know has been called "intimidating" as a way to silence her, demonize her, marginalize her... etc. They let this woman DIE and they blame it on her by saying SHE INTIMIDATED THE NURSES?
- You don’t get to tell people how you would like to be protested.
- I would like to ask that writers of color be asked to participate on panels that are about something other than how hard it is to be a writer of color.
