It's not a contradiction to be socially liberal but economically conservative. Travel, cars, watches, urbanism and making racist idiots get vewy angwy.

Is Australia the only place in the world where McDonald's refers to itself as anything other than McDonald's?

This is an absolutely horrific story. This bloke has been living in the US for seven years *with a valid visa* but had it cancelled, a 5-year entry ban imposed and was deported to Australia by ICE. The US is no longer a safe country to visit. theguardian.com/us-news/2025/a…

Wealthy Australian private schools that charge $40k+ per year and can afford to drop $125m on an aquatic centre should not receive a cent of government funding.

My crunchiest thing is I don’t think the sun causes skin cancer. I think it’s the sunscreen and the food we’ve eaten for the last 50 yrs. So we don’t really wear sunscreen and we sit in the sun in purpose. No I can not prove this, it’s a gut thing.

Well, my post about catching a domestic flight in Australia took a somewhat unexpected turn.

People will jump down my throat for this, but I honestly believe that whilst it isn't perfect, Australia is lucky to have a Federal public service that is for the most part honest, competent and non-partisan, which keeps the wheels of government turning no matter who is in power.

Vehicles like this do not belong in the central business district. And before anybody has a go at me for hating on tradies, the bed was absolutely pristine.

Any school that can afford to build an aquatic centre like this for $125m shouldn't receive a cent of government funding.

Welcome to Australia, where it is illegal for a casual worker to work in a pub for less than $62.45 per hour today thanks to penalty rates that Albo wants to enshrine in legislation. And we wonder why a beer costs $15 and a chicken parmi $35.

Some of the simple pleasures many Australians have taken for granted now feel like luxuries. But if patrons can no longer afford to visit the pubs and cafes we love, there may be something bigger at stake. ab.co/4jugL2I

Confession: until today, I have never voted anything other than Liberal in a Federal election. If the Liberals have lost people like me, they will never win the teal seats back. Ever.

Short answer: No. Longer answer: No bloody way on God's green earth should the size of standard Australian parking spaces be increased to accommodate unnecessarily large full-sized US pick-up trucks that should never have been approved in the first place.

This interview with the the Bondi Junction killer's father is utterly heartbreaking. What a thing for any parent to have to go through. theaustralian.com.au/nation/joel-ca…
