Macron did not recall the UK ambassador, apparently, according to sources close to the Elysee, "for the same reason that when the cooking in a restaurant is not first class, you sack the chef, not the guy who washes the dishes."

If you are a journalist confronted with one of the Truss economics outriders and you are not sure how to challenge them on the validity of the Truss-Kwarteng plan, there are many ways to go...

The new parenting challenge is - how many hours do you let the teenagers sleep in. What if they slept through a whole day of the holiday. Where do you draw the line. How much sleep does a growing body and brain need?

Contrast with Sunak emphasizing that he attended the 'British events'
A very emotional moment as President Macron awards the Légion d'honneur to a Royal Navy Wren, Ms Lamb She made the maps that enabled D Day. A hero!

OK, I'll bite. This is an excellent question, not just a genuine one.
Genuine questions: if most governments are borrowing heavily to pay for the cost of the pandemic, who are they borrowing from, and is there some mechanism in place for them all to agree to right off most of each other’s debt? Oh, and if not, why not?

It was 52-48. Hardly 'decisive'. What you delivered paid no heed whatsoever to the 48%. The process was managed with brinkmanship and recklessness and has damaged the economy. That's partly why you are going to lose.
Our country voted decisively for Brexit. While we delivered it, Keir Starmer tried to reverse your vote. That's the difference between us. We deliver. Keir dithers. #BBCQT

The Prime Minister has my full cut and paste text tweeted with minor modificiations today. The expression of support drafted for us was compact and got all the big calls right, and, as a bonus, fitted neatly into the character limit.

Thought I would try to pull together what I remember of the sequencing of the disaster that Musk has wrought on himself. None of this is really original. Probably a lot of it is contentious but maybe it helps just to tell a single linear story so you can fashion your own.

    1. if you are so keen on growth, why are/were you in favour of such high and costly trade barriers with the EU? Why is the government threatening a trade war with the EU which will make that worse, over the NI Protocol? What is the effect of that on growth?

    4. Why, if you are dashing for 'growth', won't you put more money into the NHS to tackle long covid and long delays to care which are having a macroeconomically significant effect on labour supply?
