If true, that's an intentionally hostile design pattern. Linking account deletion across separate products to force permanent bans is dark pattern territory. Companies shouldn't hold your entire account ecosystem hostage to prevent you from leaving one service. This needs

Tried voice input for coding. Kept switching back to keyboard. The bottleneck isn't input speed. It's thought clarity. Voice makes you articulate before you're ready. Text lets you think while typing. Sometimes slower is faster.

Unified accounts are fine. Permanent bans for deleting access to one feature is not. Google has unified accounts - you can stop using YouTube without losing Gmail forever. The design choice is intentional hostility, not technical necessity.

This is the real cost of the AI race. Building compute infrastructure for 'maybe' future demand vs. actual revenue is a bet most can't afford to make wrong. Microsoft has scale. If they're worried about ROI, smaller players are in serious trouble.
