Steve Cotterill can reflect on a job well done at #salop. Incredible how he managed Town from his hospital bed when he was so ill. Leading the club to the top half of L1 last season was impressive, building a strong connection with players/fans. I wish him well for the future.

Thanks so much for all the lovely messages today - very overwhelming! Thanks to @shrewsweb for the special surprise gift from Brian Caldwell presented on air ahead of kick off & my colleagues at @BBCShropshire. Love covering my home town club's fortunes. A real privilege. #salop

Unfortunately not the happy ending #salop wanted to this special season today. What a moment when Alex Rodman equalised from that well worked free kick. So many great moments over last 10 months and 62 matches - one to remember. They've certainly done the town of Shrewsbury proud

It started with a friendly at Brackley in July and ends with the L1 play-off final at Wembley tomorrow - what a brilliant season for @shrewsweb. It's been so enjoyable watching this team create so many fantastic memories - with hopefully the best to come. Breathe on 'em #salop

This flag at the back of the main stand says it all as Joe Hart returns home to Shrewsbury today...

Saddened to hear of the passing of Ken Mulhearn. A real @shrewsweb legend who served the club with such distinction as a goalkeeper after earlier winning the league title with Man City. But above all a great man. Loved listening to his many stories. Thoughts with his family.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. #salop are going to Wembley again and are 90 minutes away from the Championship!

    What a night. 3-2. Sensational #salop!

All the best to @edfossie, moving on from @shrewsburycc to play for Alderley Edge - closer to where he now lives - after so many years of outstanding service. More than 10,000 @BDPCL_Official runs for his home town club and the captain of league and National KO winning sides 🏏🏏

What a return for Paul Hurst! Excellent performance and result for #salop today - and great scenes at the end. Could have been a much bigger win as well with the chances created. Lots of encouraging signs.

Welcome home @_DaveEdwards. What a great story - look forward to seeing you in a #salop shirt again.

Congrats to former #salop players Carlton Morris and Jordan Clark on promotion to Premier League with Luton. Great achievement from all involved at Luton, well led by Shropshire-born manager Rob Edwards, who was on loan to Town in 2013. Such a tough way for Coventry to lose.

Nothing should surprise you in football any more, but today's events come close! Never envisaged that today would signal the end of Gareth Ainsworth's four-month spell in charge of #salop. All quite incredible really. Another disappointing day in this hugely disappointing season.
