    Off day trip to the casino in Hammond. Saw a guy sitting by himself at dinner. Asked him to join me. Name of Eddie Long. I said tell me your story Eddie. Two tours in Vietnam. Purple Heart. 29 years Chicago fireman. Thank you Eddie Long for making my life easy

    I waited to reflect on Ryne Sandberg’s passing. As a player and a man there wasn’t many better. I called most of his games and what a player he became. After his career he showed what a classy person he was. His battles are over but his legacy lives on. I won’t forget him. RIP 23

    I played against and with 40 HOF ers. We had our moments. We pass the torch to a new generation and they are diverse. I say let them play as they see fit. Let Tim flip his bat. Let Liam scream. Wear chains. The game is in their hands. We left a great game. Make it better

    The Sox signed a minor free agent just now. He won’t help the pennant chase and he can’t hit or even pitch anymore. It makes me very happy to announce that Jason has a partner for multiple years and our twitter war can continue unabated. I’m aboard for the great years ahead

    I want to explain why I was a bit short with some of you the last 3 days. Those of you who have lost a 4 legged family member can relate. My beloved Layla left this earth this morning. 13 and a half years of love and joy breathed her last. The poem says she’ll wait at the bridge

    37 years ago today the Benetti Family welcomed their little bundle of joy into the world. His was a difficult birth because he came out with superior intelligence, a rapier-like wit, an inquisitive nature and of course his signature glasses. Happy Birthday Partner. Enjoy the day

    Last WGN Cub game in St Louis tonight. Last WGN White Sox game tomorrow. I’ve had the pleasure of doing baseball on WGN since 1983. The station brought me back to the most wonderful city in the country. I’ve been here ever since. Bittersweet day tomorrow. I’m eternally grateful

    As most of you know my partner Jason Benetti is the Tigers new TV broadcaster. I hope he finds the life he wants. Jason is one of the finest broadcasters I’ve ever seen. He moves from sport to sport effortlessly. I wish him the best of everything. You’ll see him for many years

    Duane Kuiper was a good baseball player. He is a great baseball announcer. He is a better man. We are forever linked by 1 homerun. He hit it and I threw it. It was his only one. Duane has a sickness that requires chemo. Join me in sending thoughts and prayers to one of the best

    I want to thank all of you fans for watching us and tweeting with us all year. With all the challenges and complexities of 2020 it was my favorite year of broadcasting. Our team was exciting and successful. Jason is the best. I hope you had as much fun as we did. Get it done Sox

    Tonight to celebrate 40 years in the booth the White Sox are allowing me to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. I must admit I’m a bit nervous. I dreamt about it. Could I make it 60ft 6in. Will it be a strike. Can Southpaw throw better. Post pitch surgery? Lots of pressure

    I suggest that Baseball decides to play the All Star Game at the home of the White Sox. The organization has exemplified diversity and inclusion. The legacy of Hank Aaron should be honored in a place that epitomizes the ongoing struggle for equality. Chicago is that place

    When you celebrate a milestone it’s overwhelming. Last night you people on Twitter reminded me that I touched your lives in many positive ways. I’ve got a teaching degree in history but I never guessed I’d be teaching baseball to 4 generations of fans. Thank you for reminding me

    There are 30 Major League Baseball teams. Only 3 teams have a better run differential better than our Sox. Only 3 teams have hit more homeruns. Only 3 teams have more hits. Only 3 teams have a higher batting average. Only 5 teams have a better ERA. Sox fans-Lovin these boys yet?
