Boris Johnson was elected leader of the Conservative Party by a big majority of members. He laid out his policy for Brexit and was elected on that basis. All elected Conservatives should respect the decision our party made & back him. To not do so shows disrespect to our members.

- One thing I genuinely don't understand - if the EU actually believe Brexit will be such a disaster for the UK, as they have repeatedly told us, why is it they seem utterly terrified of us being free from their interference and control? We have to stand firm.
- I'm getting fed up of the 'far right' accusation. Can anyone name one of Boris Johnsons policies that is 'far right' (to be clear wanting to respect the result of the referendum and leave the EU doesn't count). Boris is the most moderate centre ground leader we have ever had.
- Let's be clear those who forced the Surrender (Benn) Bill through never thought PM would get a new deal. He did. Then they thought he would never get it through Parliament. He was going to. Hence todays shenanigans. The country deserves better than this dishonest Parliament.
- So the Speaker denies Parliament a vote on the PMs Brexit deal quoting a convention from 1605. He seems to forget he overturned similar conventions earlier this year to allow MPs to delay and thwart Brexit. He has given up any pretence of impartiality.
- The Guardian have just lost any crumb of credibility they had left. The cartoon of Priti Patel is racists and misogynistic. If it depicted a female politician from the left there would be an outcry. The level of hypocrisy has reached new levels. Totally unacceptable.
- I can think on one thing a General Election would solve.......Just to be clear - a General Election will not solve the #Brexit crisis. The only way out of the mess is @peoplesvote_uk #FinalSay #LetUsBeHeard
- I am sorry to have to say this but the PM has got this all the wrong way around. She shouldn't be touring the country selling her plan to the British people but listening to those we represent. She should be our representative in Brussels not the EU's representative in UK.
- I'm sorry Amber. If politicians don't respect the result of the first referendum why should anyone believe they will respect the result of another one?.@AmberRuddHR admits that a Second Referendum ‘would probably be better than a General Election’ which may not solve anything. #Peston
00:00 - Meanwhile I'm in Westminster representing our constituency where 64% voted to Leave- playing my role to deliver Brexit.Anti-Brexit campaigners outside the office of @stevedouble in St Austell - chanting “shame on you, stop the coup”. Some bystanders say they just want the PM to get on with it @BBCCornwall @BBCSpotlight
- Sadly I am coming to the same conclusion. The very reason many voted to Leave is being demonstrated. People want to know their voice and vote matters. Not be told the political elite know better. Not delivering a true Brexit will do huge and lasting damage to our democracy.
- It is so frustrating that it is only now that EU are taking risk of no deal seriously. Just imagine where we could have been if the threat of no deal was real a year ago. We will probably never know how much damage those MPs who refused to accept no deal as an option have caused
- Up early to prepare to speak in the debate later today. These are serious times. Too many MPs don't appear to understand that the reason many people voted Leave is because they felt the political establishment ignored them. Appears they were right.
- Having campaigned on behalf of Hong Kong BNO Passport holders I welcome this news. I will continue to press for positive action until we get the right outcome.
