- attention Rassie Erasmus. You are directly responsible for the horrible abuse suffered by Polly Barnes revealed by Wayne, this week. Your failure to take defeat on the chin and paranoid response to blame the referee should terminate your involvement in pro rugby for good.
- To coach the Lions in all the difficult circumstances is the ultimate coaching task. For Eddie Jones to disparage the job as ‘ambassadorial’ is an insult to great men & a new low. Report says he has ruled himself out of the Lions job. Why? No-one was going to ask him to do it.
- Exeter Chiefs have sold nearly 10K tickets for Eng v Italy women's match on Saturday. They are an example to any rugby club, anywhere; they typify what a rugby club is meant to be. If the Premiership had become a closed shop, they would not even exist in the pro game #Chiefs
- Odd finish at Bristol seems to be obsessing some. The truth is that Nigel Owens was quite right to take time to check his timings - also, it was very hard to spot an error by him, in a match that was fiendishly hard to referee. I thought he was spectacularly good, TBH
- Sheer brilliance from Ireland - on and off the field it was quite staggering. One of the greatest displays abroad by anyone anywhere.
- Anyone dare call Fiji a Tier2 nation now, or ever? Why should they not get the same slice of RWC proceeds as Tier 1? For me this was the best Welsh performance of the season. Good job for them that other countries stole Fiji’s first XV.
- FFS. Tonga squad drawn from 9 different comps, some amateur some Mickey Mouse. Robbed of funds & players & prep time. One home game in 10 years. We are supposed to celebrate that England kept them tryless? Seriously?
- Online abuse directed at @SanjayWills one of greatest and most courageous players of the era is a new low. Hope Liam can laugh off these dickheads
- The WRU built rugby’s greatest stadium 20 years ago. They had foresight to install retractable roof. It is unfathomable that visiting team decides if roof is to be shut.
- Have read of four amateur rugby clubs today alone announcing start of training. A complete nonsense borrowed from over-trained pro teams. For god’s sake let your players enjoy summer and try other sports. And other lives
- Shaun keeps his nerve to land the conversion for Berkshire Brigands in the Mixed Ability Rugby tournament at Bath yesterday. Congrats to all competing teams @DuncanJ10
- How good were the England lads on Jonathan Ross? Just shows what happens when media barriers are lifted and their true characters emerge. Joe Marler brilliant.
- Here’s an antidote to election pain. Go to your local rugby club this weekend for a drink and to watch match. Might be men or women’s or kids or gay match. Doesn’t matter. You’ll find conviviality no matter how you voted.
