i also don’t get people’s aversion to descriptions like ‘eyes darken’ or ‘gaze softens’ they paint a pretty clear picture to me & the alternative is the author just naming the emotion the character is feeling rather than describing it through their body language, which SUCKS
Can I confess something and not get jumped? I don’t mind descriptive words like growled, snarled, barked, and roared. I know exactly what the author is saying when they use them, and I think they have a different feel than just “yelled” or “shouted”.
