Life is all about building habits. When you’re young it’s also about investing time into what you want your life to be. So unless you plan to have your life revolve around work forever (meet a partner there, have no hobbies etc) diversify your time

Hey founders, startups are a shitshow most of the time. If you’re looking around and thinking other people have it figured out, they don’t.

After 7 years, my time leading Marketing at @trello has come to a close. It's been a wild startup roller coaster ride, from scrappy beginnings to scaling to acquisition and integration with @Atlassian. Some ideas from building the most popular project mgmt tool of all time 🧵

Again I disagree :) I know too many people for whom “career” and path changed in their 20s after getting more life experience. In fact, the best way to burn out of a long career is to work too much. Look at lawyers and investment bankers.

A friend had a final interview with a (female) CEO for a job. The CEO cancelled her whole day of meetings bc her kid was sick. My friend was on the fence about the job but is now excited bc of what this says about the culture. She’s a mom too.

Today we closed on refinancing a mortgage. This involved a notary coming to us with about 100 sheets of paper that we had to sign and date in person in blue pen ink. Wtf? How has this not been disrupted? Oh and don’t worry, he had a second set as a copy “for our records.”

📣 Sharing some news: I'm starting a new venture with my former Trello colleagues @donnniegoat and @justingallagher. We were on the exec team at Trello, and scaled a remote team with a great culture. Today, the way people collaborate remotely is broken. 🧵

The best part of angel investing is meeting amazing humans doing inspiring things.

Happy to have invested in 4 women led funds this year. A core value I took away from Atlassian- “be the change you seek”
🎉Woo! Dollars raised by women-led venture capital funds are up 59%, year over year. There’s still a long way to go but I want to take a moment and celebrate this. news.crunchbase.com/news/female-fo…

One thing I’ve learned in life: Don’t use not feeling ready as an excuse to shy away from a challenge. Whether it’s personal (having kids) or professional (starting a co) just do the thing and you’ll figure it out as you go.

Angel investing milestone: One of my first angel investments shut down today. Sad. But that's life.

Learned early on managing remote teams that you NEVER send this message
Is this the most anxiety inducing message of all time?

Behind every hater of remote work is an investment in real estate that can no longer be rationally justified.
