Today I release my first annual report on the impact of COVID19 on people in poverty, scrutinizing the recent wave of social protection. I find that most measures are maladapted, short-term, reactive, and inattentive to the realities of people in poverty: bit.ly/2Fix7xx

It is disturbing that, while the Rotterdam authorities state they are willing to enter into a "dialogue" with the UN, they seem to want to rush the project undisturbed. Moving on the basis of a fait accompli is not entering into a dialogue in good faith.
To eradicate poverty, we need to move away from an exclusive focus on economic growth to a renewed commitment to wealth redistribution and to the fight against inequalities.
